Just received Panzer Dragoon Saga! Question..

Post by ns12123 »

Should I play the first two games before starting? I purchased them also, but they have not come in the mail yet. They should be here sometime next week. What do you guys think?

I would say yes. It seems like a lot of thought has gone into the storyline for that series.

Course I almost always play things in order if I can. I'm anal that way

I say do it this way.

1st) Panzer Dragoon Zwei (its the prequel to panzer dragoon 1)
2nd) Panzer Dragoon
3rd) Panzer Dragoon Saga (or you could do orta, havent played orta to know if its before or after saga...)

Hope this helps. :D

Play them however you want. They're not directly connected. Each one will reference another in subtle ways, a lot of which the casual player might miss. Just beat them all, and then go here:

There is a goldmine of information there, though a lot of it just best guesses. Sega left the majority of the plot up to the player to put together.

the first panzer dragoon has harsh ugly graphics, lol, so you might want to play that one first before jumping to zwei and saga. they look beautiful by comparison.

i really do not think it matters.. i always though of saga as a stand alone game.. be carefuly with how you store it though! those paper sleeves in the case do not hold the discs very well at all..

I found the first game to be quite attractive, actually. The water effects were great and it has the best soundtrack of the series.

I found it impossible to beat the first panzer dragoon. I would just play saga right now and enjoy the heck out of it. The oiriginal games are more actiony, and can be played whenever for however long.
