One of the nicest and most likeable characters I have seen in an rpg. I still remember how much of a friend he was to Titus, jumping into the water at one point in the game to save Tidus as I recall with no regard for his own safety

I'd want a friend like that

See I look at who a character actually is. I don't care if people didn't like his accent or his name. Wakka was a good guy. Course, I also love the fact that he is the most powerful offensive character in the game. Perfect for the monster arena

Douche is a bit of a general statement I suppose. What I meant by it was that he's a complete jock with a lack of any interesting personality. He also thinks way too much of himself.
"Your hero has arrived, baby!" - Snow

I see nothing wrong with this. 8)
Well, they could have at least made them bigger then

I thought Snow had a good personality. He basically just wants to help people and will put himself on the line to do it. I like that about him. He's also loyal to a fault and He also takes responsiblity for his actions. He DESERVES to think highly of himself because in my eyes he WAS a hero. Moreso than that bitchy Lightning, who is more of a douchy character for like the first half of the game I thought.
I suppose I didn't look at it quite that way. Dammit now you're making me sorta like Snow.

 I actually dont care much for FFX either. I've watched gameplay many times and it didnt grab my attention like the others I've played have. I think that final fantasy has lost it's charm since the move to Ps2, although I have never played XIII. I did dislike VIII though. I felt bad that it was such a let down after VII, but at least IX was awesome.

LOL

There were moments in the game that made me like him

He stays behind with his girlfriend, putting himself in danger as the rest of the cast just leaves her behind, including her own sister(Lightning)

At one point in the story, they are in a house surrounded by enemies. Who is the first guy to walk out, risk his own neck to attempt to save everyone? It's Snow

He feels totally guilty when he fails to save Hope's mom. Later in the game, when he finds out Hope wants to kill him for that, he accepts it. There's a scene after that where he even carries the injured kid around to get him to a safe place despite being more injured himself.

I think Snow comes across across negatively to some people because Lightning spends so much of the game bad mouthing him, which is why I view her as a bit of a bitch. She gets a bit more likeable as the game goes on though, but all of her hate for him is really just her own personal issues that she needs to deal with. Haters gonna hate as they say

I remember all of those moments. I don't know, it was probably the way he acted that most made me want to strangle him. Always being so loud and obnoxious. It was grating.

But yeah, fine, I suppose he wasn't such a bad guy.

dude, I actually sort of love FFXIII.
Finish the game, then see how you feel. It is easy to enjoy it somewhat during its 10hour+ tutorial, wait until you are bored out of your mind....just wait.

You also seem to like a character based on you agreeing with their moral choices. I've read you criticizing Enslaved because you think what's-her-name is a manipulative bitch.

That's fine, she might be someone you wouldn't personally hang out with. But even if you don't agree with a character, you can say they're interesting.

Kratos is a mass murderer, but his motivations might be interesting regardless of their righteousness.

Likewise, if you read, say, Crime and Punishment, you'd could definitely say that Rodka is a sociopath. He's still interesting.

man, i LOVED bart's nightmare and virtual bart. virtual bart a little less so, but i spent a lot of time with these games as a kid. the egg toss game in VB took a lot of hours away from my developmental process as a child. i look at those games as kind of a precursor to games like mario party or wario ware.

i always liked wakka for those reasons, also. FFX was a pretty important game to me, one of my top 10, for sure. the sphere grid was something that i really got into and really enjoyed much more so than any kind of class system or traditional leveling-up you do in any other FF game.

the thing that drove me fucking nuts was blitzball. i just could not wrap my head around that. which sucks because you can't unlock wakka's ultimate weapon without it. maybe someday i'll revisit that but i remember it being such a fucking headache that i doubt it'll be anytime soon.

and while liking auron is kind of a given (which was definitely helped by his dialogue, which was definitely helped by the fact that you never see the dude's mouth so there was no sync-work to be done), i also really liked lulu and looked at her kind of in the same way that i look at katey segal's character on sons of anarchy (not at the same time, since i played it back in like 2003). just a very motherly character looking out for her summoner, while also battling her own emotional distresses, which were unfortunately not really expanded upon much in the story.

also, while i'm waxing hard on FFX, i want to tell you guys that i cried a little during the battle between Kimahri and Yenke/Birahn. the music and the moment were so powerful. i am a wuss.

I feel a bad for Deadly Towers. No it isn't a great game and it certainly has flaws but it isn't devoid of redeeming qualities. Yet it is consistently on OMG WORST EVAR game lists, usually very near the top. I did beat it legitimately though, unless you consider autofire cheating. Having to draw maps and find the secrets made the equipment upgrades and finishing the game feel like an accomplishment.
