From the first time I played FFX, and forever after, every time I hear Wakka I think of Fozzie. Its simply impossible not to.

Talk about pop culture invading your brain.

The Uematsu score is pure gold, and the battle system is good old fashioned turn based combat at it's absolute finest. The Jecht/Braska/Auron storyline was pretty interesting, unveiling bits of that with the spheres was pretty much my favorite part of the game.
Seriously, the music is mindblowing and the game had some amazing environments (loved the temples). But yeah, I'm with you guys in hating the cast that makes it one of my least favorite FF's. To be honest I didn't even care for Auron much either... but compared to everyone else, yeah he was better. (and just to throw it out there Seymour and the whole games focus on "dead but not really dead" thing was a huge deal breaker for me). Lost Odyssey is a better FFX in my world.

Damn, it's almost awkward to think FFXIII's cast might top X's for me, and that's sad. At least Vanille was hot, haha... and Sazh was fine but he had that hilariously lame breakdown midway into the game. Fang was probably the only character I consistently liked throughout the whole thing. Lightning was cooler than Cloud, I'll give her that. Cooler than a puppet! ...

FFXIII is a game I don't feel bad for at all. It was trash and I hope the sequel nobody wants bombs harder than The Spirits Within for Square Enix.

Two Worlds. It has many flaws but I find it's amount of depth and hilarious voice acting perfect.

That looked a little too flawed for my taste :?

I liked Two Worlds, though I still need to get around to finishing it.

First time I played it, I was kinda like..."what the fuck?" and I shelved it for a year.

When I went back to it, I made it a point to push through for a bit, about an hour was enough, and then I started to really enjoy it. I absolutely loved stacking my weapons and items to make them more powerful.

I actually liked most of FFXIII's decisions with the cast. Rather than an overly effeminate guy as the main character, they have an overly masculine girl with Lightning. Sazh was probably the most relateable black character I've seen in a video game. Vanille and Fang have that beautiful Sempai Kohai relationship that led to even more beautiful fan works (wink wink). Didn't really feel much for Snow or Hope, but whatever.

Anyway, I don't really feel bad for bad games or their developers. Much like with movie actors, I pretty much expect that you are going to have to do some shitty projects before you get some good ones, and then you're going to have to continue doing some shitty projects while waiting for some good ones just get keep food on the table. It's when you do nothing but shitty projects (and your best works are middling at best) that you either need to shape up, or find a new agent.

I like some of the Simpsons' games for the NES/SNES like Bart's Nightmare. People regularly rip on them, though. Also, I liked the N64 Castlevania games, which no one else apparently did.

I actually liked the characters in final Fantasy XIII for pretty much the same reasons The7K gave. All except Snow. That dude was a douche.

Anyways, I feel sorry for World of Warcraft. I've only ever played the 10 day free trial but I still feel sorry because the game get's blamed for a lot of stuff that isn't its fault. A whole lot of people made up stupid stories of someone who threw their lives away on the game and suddenly everyone thinks WoW is the antichrist. Hell, I have a friend in real life who refuses to even touch PC games because of his blind and unwarranted hatred for WoW. He's obviously a massive console fanboy of course, but still.
I feel old when talking to anyone my age yet too inexperienced to effectively talk to anyone older. Life is grand that way.

Made up stories? No, a lot of those are true. But same thing happened with Everquest before it...and you know, gambling, alcohol, drugs, etc.

Don't blame the game. Moderation is the key to everything. WoW has those stories because people have addictive personalities that cause them to have trouble moderating their play time.
