Re: Guardian Heroes
I heard a lot of mixed stuff about this lately, so I went into it with apprehension after forking out for it about a month ago.
I needn't have worried though, its brilliant. It's hectic, your character has tonnes of moves, the music is funky and awesome, the enemies attack on masse and yet rarely feel cheap unlike some beat-em-ups (scott pilgrim comes to mind). The level up system is nice, even if a lot of beat em ups do that, especially lately. I love letting loose as Randy and mixing up his crazy fast combos with his screen filling spells in one big combo. This game is honestly pushing for my favourite beat-em-up game of all time, favourite treasure game of all time and favourite saturn game of all time all at once.
That said, Streets of Rage 2, Ikaruga/gunstar heroes/bangai o spirits and NiGHTs aren't gonna give up those spots easily :p

Oh, I got the original CIB with the controllers and multitap to play it. I have the physical aspect covered. But the 360 version could potentially coax me into getting the system.brunoafh wrote:I would be in the same boat IF it were a physical release.wip3outguy7 wrote:Favorite game of all time. Re: Guardian Heroes
It's Guardian Heroes. It's pretty good. Probably my favorite game for the Sega Saturn. I'm excited it's going to be rereleased on XBLA but they better make it a worthy demonstration of what the game was. Sometimes these remakes do more harm than good. But.......12 player battle sounds pretty crazy. It was out of control with six. Highly recommended.
Re: Guardian Heroes
I never "got it" either. I never really could figure out how the RPG parts of the game worked. I couldn't level up fast enough, which isn't easy when there are finite enemies and you're competing with the NPCs for experience points.

Re: Guardian Heroes
I'm excited about this game coming to XBLA. But can we get a Radiant Silvergun HD release date first?

Re: Guardian Heroes
I would appreciate that since I definitely don't have the cash for a saturn copy
Re: Guardian Heroes
I thought Radiant Silvergun was already out on XBLA... must have been thinking of Bangai-O. That's on XBLA, right?
