Ever play a bad game that you feel bad for?

I have very mixed feeling over it, but in general I did enjoy it as well

I think it's visually amazing. Such a perfect "hey you just got a PS3? Check THIS out" game.

I LOVE the score.

I actually find the linear quality of it suits the game itself. Meaning, I'm not sure a completely open-ended world COULD have worked in this game. It keeps the game constantly moving ahead. Good pacing.

I think the battle system is actually exciting.

Perhaps most importantly, I like (almost) all the characters. Considering it was the characters that generally turned me off from FFX, it's refreshing that I could actually enjoy the cast here.

So bottom line, the positives for me tend to outshine the negatives. And to agree, most negatives tend to be ones that I think are here for a logical reason.

The battle system was my favorite part of the game, followed by the look I got from the visuals on my 50" 1080p tv. I think the only think that let me down a little was that I didn't feel that strong of a connection to the characters and that my choices were all being made for me. I had the same reaction to Kingdom Hearts II, very spoon fed.

I really liked Auron though. FFX would be my worst cast if not for him. FFXII is my 3rd worst.

Vanille was far more annoying to me than Wakka could ever hope to be...

Vanille is probably my favorite character is any FF game to date.

She got a little under my skin as well, but I think I found myself wanting to punch Hope square in the nose quite more often, regardless that he was the healer in my main party.

I couldn't stand Hope either honestly.

The only character I liked was Sazh.

I believe that's Snow. And jackass is a very appropriate term for him, heh.

Speaking of FFX's terrible cast, I always felt that if that game was only about Jecht, Braska, Auron, maybe 2 other characters, and centered around their story, it might be one of the best FF games ever.

The Uematsu score is pure gold, and the battle system is good old fashioned turn based combat at it's absolute finest. The Jecht/Braska/Auron storyline was pretty interesting, unveiling bits of that with the spheres was pretty much my favorite part of the game.
