Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

It's a credit based service that allows you to buy something and pay for it later. Not a credit card, but they do check your credit for it and I believe interest applies.

Same. There is almost nothing that would make me go with 100 miles of anything involving credit. The only money I ever spend is money I have (or, on rare occasions, money borrowed from friends/family and promptly paid back).

No offense, but that's not the best idea. Its important to build your credit.

I'm not saying go crazy, but your credit score unfortunately affects a lot of things nowadays, and in some cases it can even help/hurt your chances at some jobs.

If 20 years down the line you decide to buy a house, you'll have a lot problems with 0 credit.

Again, no offense, and I understand why you don't want to mess with it at all, but its something you should consider.

CFFJR is correct, building credit is a modern age necessity, but I agree that most credit based purchases should generally be avoided.

Yeah...I've had a few people tell me I should get a credit card to make a few purchases on a month and then immediately pay off to build up credit, or something similar. Sad thing is, I know myself and if I get a credit card it will NOT end well...

 Yeah, the discipline part is the most difficult. I learned my lesson on that the hard way, believe me.

Good way to handle it, get a low limit credit card, and don't carry it in your wallet. Keep it at home, in someplace where its inconvenient to grab it, and only take it out when you need it.

Even better, only use that card to purchase fuel, so you're not motivated to go blow money.

Yeah, I've also heard that from a lot of people...hence me being weary to even get a credit card at all.

That's...actually a really, really awesome idea. Maybe I'll look into getting a credit card soon...

Honestly I've heard the same, so you guys are right I'm sure. Still haven't gotten a credit card but I think eventually I'll get one and just use it for gas for my car or something... maybe that's simple enough to build it up? EDIT: Well that's exactly what CFFJR said, so yeah, I hear that from other friends as well so that'll probably be my plan.

And speaking of that stuff, got contacted by a dept collector last week about something from THREE years ago (that was awesome!...), but luckily we worked something out and my credit (whatever it is) won't be damaged.
