Fatal Frames-Originals and Reprints
Recently I bought the Fatal Frame series from Gamestop. My friend has the original copies and the ones I now have are the reprints. He let me borrow them to see them and there are some differences on them, espeically on the original Fatal Frame.
Obviously the you can tell ther're the repirnts because the have the new case. but I'm sure all of you out there can spot more stuff.
You can use this as a guide to see which copy you own or when buying this game.
Fatal Frame: One the cover art the left one is original the right is the reprint. There is a different logo on the bottom right. The book covers are really different and so is the font on the inside. The info in the book is the same but now there's the new ps2 pic in there, and the pics in the manual are much bigger.

Re: Fatal Frames-Originals and Reprints
One thing I forgot to post on the last is that all of the reprints of the fatal frames use different paper! The outside of the manual on the original has thicker paper and the reprints have thinner paper.
More Posts one the same, but now on to Fatal Frame 2: The manual on top is original and the bottom is the reprint.
There is no differences between the manuals and the covers in fatal frame 2
One thing I did notice is that the original pressing of the ps2 disc is that it is a little more darker compared to the reprint. I cant tell if this is intentional or just the way they were made.

Interesting. What about the games, any extra content on the repress?
HDAdvance/HDLoader direct install will confirm errors and the exact size of each version.
I found some games that have color pages in the initial release went to black and white pages in reprints, Players Choice Gamecube Rebel Assault comes to mind.

Re: Fatal Frames-Originals and Reprints
havent checked that yet!
I'll post when I can to see if there's anything else between them.
OH! one more thing, I dont think that the reprints have the tecmo postcard in them.
Dont know if the previous owner got rid of them or if they never came.

Re: Fatal Frames-Originals and Reprints
I had no idea there were printing variations on this series
Re: Fatal Frames-Originals and Reprints
Didn't know but good to know when I try to hunt down an original down the road.
Re: Fatal Frames-Originals and Reprints
Definitely an interesting find. Reminds me that I don't think I've ever played the third game! I don't think my friends and I ever completed 2 either, but good times.
