I'll also toss my hat in the ring of not caring much for Ocarina. Don't hate it, but it just couldn't hook me like the old Zeldas. Honestly, I haven't played a single 3D Zelda that managed to keep me playing.

There is a reason why Sega and Atari no longer make consoles (or good games for that matter).

I feel the exact same way. I have never cared for Ocarina of Time, at all. Wind Waker wasn't really my cup of tea either, but it was way more Zelda than Ocarina of Time was. To me anyway.
OoT fandom is annoying and brings it down in a way, which I can say the same about FF7. But that doesn't prevent me from still loving them myself.

OoT is LTTP in 3D basically, so that's awesome. And personally I've expressed my tastes in Zelda before here I believe, but the reason why I prefer OoT over a lot of the other newer 3D ones is because of its simplicity. It was more about roaming around on your own and dungeon crawling, just like the older games. But after that, the games got a bit more gimmicky, were riddled with more fetch quests and annoying things like that, etc. I'd take more dungeons over that junk, which is why OoT delivers a lot for me. It was mindblowing to me at the time too when it was brand new, but nostalgia aside I still play it to this day and love everything about it.

Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass, and Minish Cap were all not the kind of Zelda I knew and loved growing up with. That said they're still top notch games, but I'll take the other ones over them easily.

Majora's Mask is an exception, one of the unorthodox Zelda games I loved to death. Granted I only played it once and it was a disappointment to me that it really only has about 4 main dungeons compared to OoT's ~7+ or something, but yeah I still loved it and have no complaints here.

Like I've been saying a lot throughout the boards lately it's been a blast FINALLY going through Seasons and Ages now. These are the real deal to me, the kind of Zelda games I love. Let me do the random exploring and pile those awesome dungeons up, without overdoing it on dialogue and character interactions, hell yeah.

3D was supposed to be all about realism, and if you look at the N64 games especially, let's just say they haven't aged very well.
Really!? I find the 64 has aged the best out of the big 3 consoles of the generation. The PS1's and Saturn's textures look horrid by today's standards, the 64 on the other hand, while washed out, still looks better than the painful look of the pixelated textures on the PS1/Saturn.

I think that really early 3D games (3DO, SNES SFX, Jaguar, 32X, etc.) had somewhat of a charm to them. It felt like they were pushing the hardware to its limits, and doing things that it clearly wasn't meant to do. I just love that mentality of having such mastery of hardware that you can make it do much more amazing things than anyone thought possible.

Atari still pumps out decent games. Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 and Test Drive Unlimited come to mind.

Sega produces and publishes quality games too. Some of the best around today as a matter of fact. Ryu ga Gotoku (Yakuza) series, all of their work with Platinum Games (Vanquish, Bayonetta, Madworld), Valkyria Chronicles series, Resonance of Fate, Phantasy Star series, and probably some stuff I can't remember right now/haven't heard of.

Indeed I think they've been one of the better publishers out there for awhile now.

The main thing Sega has issues with is making Sonic games. They've published a lot of gooders (aside from the various aforementioned, I really liked Alpha Protocol).
