The Wrestling Thread
Re: The Wrestling Thread
That was the most predictable PPV I've ever seen. Also, heels need to win matches from time to time, otherwise they aren't a threat.

John Cena Announces the Death of Osama Bin Laden last night at the PPV:
they should had let CM Punk win that match against Randy Orton.Bootaaay wrote:That was the most predictable PPV I've ever seen. Also, heels need to win matches from time to time, otherwise they aren't a threat.

Re: The Wrestling Thread
It pretty much squashes their rivalry - and allows Punk some room to decide what he's going to do within the company, since his contract with WWE is almost up. He's expressed interest in leaving.sevin0seven wrote: they should had let CM Punk win that match against Randy Orton.
You know, I thought about this today and it makes sense. No coincidence Rock will be on the show the night after with Cena a newly minted champ. So I guess it's not such a bad move in the end. But R. Truth - man, I'm liking the heel run, but did he need to discredit the cage match like that? I thought the point of a cage match is to bar outside interference? He just went in there unannounced and did whatever he wanted to, before climbing out. Way to cheapen a classic match gimmick..Gamerforlife wrote:Because the Rock is gonna be on Raw tonight. Also, anybody else enjoy the debut of Kharma? Never cared for the women's division, but this looks like a much needed boost now that they have a powerhouse among the ranks to demolish the 'Divas'. Kind of instills a "What if they brought back Chyna" dynamic to the division.

Re: The Wrestling Thread
I want to see Beth Phoenix vs Kharma. To me, Beth Phoenix is the modern Chyna. I think a feud with them would be fantastic, but they need to build Beth back up again like they did before as a very strong, powerful diva. Time to bring back the "Glamazon". It just makes me happy to see the WWE drop their prejudice against divas that don't look like Barbie dolls. So I am very happy that they signed Kharma into the WWE. One of the WWE's flaws for years now is their insistence on making everyone the same. Babyfaces and heels all have to act the same way and divas all have to look like models. It's time for some changeRurouni_Fencer wrote:It pretty much squashes their rivalry - and allows Punk some room to decide what he's going to do within the company, since his contract with WWE is almost up. Sometimes I wish the divas had a tag team division. I could see a heel Beth Phoenix and a heel Kharma destroying everyone as a team. Then maybe have Natalya(who has some power herself)and maybe someone like Gail Kim(who I am told had great matches in TNA with Kharma)try to take them down. The problem with a lot of the divas though is they have ZERO mic skills. Laycool got themselves over mostly by talking a lot, something a lot of the other divas aren't any good at
I like CM Punk, but he needs to get out of this leadership gimmick of his. First the Straight Edge Society and then Nexus. He needs to remind everyone why he is special all by his lonesome as he keeps coming off as a guy with a big mouth who likes to hide behind a stable of other wrestlers
Random thought, John Morrison could be the next Jeff Hardy. He is Mr. Stuntman now just like Jeff was. He certainly has the right look too. Too bad his girlfriend keeps getting him in trouble..................

Jesus Christ, they really brought the star power on Raw tonight. The Rock is just that awesome! This one Raw was more star studded than Wrestlemania

Careful - they're bound to induct Steve Carrell into the Celebrity wing of the HoF for his birthday wishes..Gamerforlife wrote:Jesus Christ, they really brought the star power on Raw tonight. The Rock is just that awesome! This one Raw was more star studded than Wrestlemania

Oh God, it's sad that that could actually happenRurouni_Fencer wrote:Careful - they're bound to induct Steve Carrell into the Celebrity wing of the HoF for his birthday wishes..Gamerforlife wrote:Jesus Christ, they really brought the star power on Raw tonight. Vince seems to be making a really noticeable effort to make wrestling more mainstream all of a sudden. I wonder why
On a related note, the new fast and furious movie with the rock in it actually got good reviews. It's official, the Rock is a legit movie star. I'm sure Cena must hate that

This reminds me of how Orton screwed CM Punk during his first title run. They might as well start calling him the first-time champ killer
Well this just further proves that Orton, Triple H, Undertaker and Cena pretty much rule the WWE. I hope to god they turn Orton heel so Christian can at least get a main event feud out of this and hopefully win the title back
In retrospect it kind of seems like they were protecting Del Rio by NOT having him become champion. Not loving the hierarchy of the WWE right now
