Seemed like the Knicks just gave it away. I think the Heat will be a much more competitive series.noiseredux wrote:Celtics sweep!

Re: 2011 NBA Thread
oh most certainly. The Knicks put up a better fight than I expected in Game 1 and 2. 3 was a breeze, and most of 4 as well.Bradtemple87 wrote:Seemed like the Knicks just gave it away. I think the Heat will be a much more competitive series.noiseredux wrote:Celtics sweep!

Re: 2011 NBA Thread
Alright, first I'm going to critique my picks from last round.
Eastern Conference:
#1 Bulls vs. #8 Pacers
Prediction: Bulls in 4
Actual: Bulls in 5
#2 Heat vs. #7 76ers
Prediction: Heat in 6
Actual: Heat in 5
#3 Celtics vs. #6 Knicks
Prediction: Celtics in 5
Actual: Celtics in 4
#4 Magic vs. #5 Hawks
Prediction: Hawks in 7
Actual: Hawks in 6
Western Conference:
#1 Spurs vs. #8 Grizzles
Prediction: Spurs in 7
Actual: Grizzlies in 6
#2 Lakers vs. #7 Hornets
Prediction: Lakers in 5
Actual: Lakers in 6
#3 Mavericks vs. #6 Blazers
Prediction: Blazers in 7
Actual: Mavericks in 6
#4 Thunder vs. #5 Nuggets
Prediction: Thunder in 7
Actual: Thunder in 5
Eh, I was mostly close.
Now, for my quarterfinal predictions!
Eastern Conference:
#1 Bulls vs. #5 Hawks Bulls in 6
All three of their regular season matchups were in March. The Bulls won the series 2-1, but the Hawks didn't score more than 83 points in any of the matchups. I think the Bulls' defense will frustrate the Hawks like they did during the regular season, and it doesn't help Atlanta that they're going to be without Kirk Hinrich.
#2 Heat vs. #3 Celtics Heat in 7
It's tough to say which way this one goes. This series rests on whether LeBron and Rajon come to play or not. If one does and the other doesn't, it's over. If they both do, I like the Heat, but not by much.
Western Conference:
#4 Thunder vs. #8 Grizzles Thunder in 7
Hard for me to pick against the Grizz after today's game, but I don't think Randolph et al. can match the firepower of Durant and Westbrook. If these games become a series of shootouts, OKC has this one in the bag.
#2 Lakers vs. #3 Mavericks Lakers in 6
I see this playing out very similarly to LA's matchup against the Hornets. Dirk will carry the Mavs to two wins, but being pretty much the only guy on the court that can match Kobe, with the Lakers also having a great supporting group around Bryant, he can't do much more than that.

Re: 2011 NBA Thread
not in Miami's Heat eyes. the only bright spot on that game for the Celtics was Ray Allen. Game 2, will see all the adjustment Doc Rivers will apply.noiseredux wrote:everything about that game was infuriating.
