What Are You Drinking?
Re: What Are You Drinking?
Not too dark and probably not too expensive, but the last good new beer I tried was Smithwicks.

Well I don't know what beers they sell in your area, so I can only suggest stuff I know.brunoafh wrote:The usual places I guess. Bars, grocery stores. There's also two pretty large distributors with a big stock by me, was thinking about stopping there and checking out the selection to see if anything grabbed my eye. I much prefer dark beer over light.Niode wrote:Depends what you have access to.brunoafh wrote:I'm in the mood to try a "good" beer today. You know, one of these expensive types. Any suggestions?

Well it says you live in NY, so I suggest Goose Island (not a NY brewery, but they distribute to NY). I know for sure you should be able get some Brooklyn, always a solid choice. Also, Saranac Double IPA is surprisingly excellent beer from a rather mediocre brewery.brunoafh wrote:I'm in the mood to try a "good" beer today. You know, one of these expensive types. For Goose Island and Brooklyn they have several verities, just get the one you think you would like, pale ale, ipa, brown ale, etc.
For a good dark beer I know you should be able to find is Leinenkugel Russian Imperial Stout, which is again, a surprisingly good beer for an extremely mediocre brewery. It is not the best RIS, but it is a solid choice if you have never had a RIS.

I had to google what Vimto was, sounds pretty tasty. I love the flavor of black currants.Hobie-wan wrote:Vimto in ginger ale.

The Vimto factory was about half a mile from my house until it moved about 5 years ago.
