Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
So as noted in the OMG Ebil thread I got some free stuff from Gamestop today.

I had asked the other weekend when they were taking down the Portal posters and they told me today. Some were still up, as was an end cap, but I got these 2. They couldn't find either of the Colossus discs, so I got the cases and manuals for free.
I also picked up a NIB Splitfish Edge FX for $3. I know they supposedly aren't great, but I wanted to try it for $3 else I might mod it or something. There was another in a slightly more beat up box if someone wants it for cost and shipping.

Jade Empire - $4 via EB Games (They are getting rid of all there xbox games, most didn't have cases or were rubbish, all I could find worth getting).

Talk about a find. Look what was tucked in a corner in my closet. I didn't even remember having this.
Dark Forces on PC. I love these over-sized pc game boxes. I put the gba-sp there for a size comparison.
I guess I'm a little late for the Together Retro.

Great finds all over this page!
I purchase two myself, a mini review here:

Surprised you found the Splitfish Edge FX, its no longer listed on the Gamestop site. The mouse is only as quick as the analog stick, but its not bad. I love it for FPS games, removable nunchuck in the left hand and the sensor mouse in the right using the couch pillow as a mouse pad. Provides for a precise control and a very good price if found at Gamestop.Hobie-wan wrote:So as noted in the OMG Ebil thread I got some free stuff from Gamestop today.

San Francisco Amoeba Invasion

In addition to the B2G2F vacation run a couple weeks ago at Gamestop, I also happened upon Amoeba Music. The game selection is small, but I think this will grow over time. Multiple locations, I posted the addresses on the Retro Game Store listing. Hey Lisa, some updates for your OP.

PS2 X Files - $1.99
A plain Resident Evil inspired game with the X Files theme.
Why is the Flashlight stuck on Mulders back?
PS1 Broken Helix - $1.99
This is what Doom would be as a poor 3rd person shooter.
PS1 Omega Boost $2.99
How did this one slip by me all these years! This is a great semi rail floating shooter. Works beautiful with a digital Arcade stick! So much better then Galaxian 3.
PS1 Rogue Trip - $3.99
I remember at the time reading about this somewhere, I though it had positive reviews. Meh, a basic Vigilante 2 or Twisted Metal.
PS1 Uprising X
Arcade tank simulator in FPV mode. Not bad.
Three meh PS1 games and one very very good one. Saved the best for last
PS2 Rez - $6.99
THE game that one would buy as a collectable. Icing on the cake is this is also one hell of a great game. A Rail Shooter with Tron imaging, even the no kidding MCP look alike boss is there.
Which is which?

Create music while you are shooting. I already have both PS2 and a Dreamcast copy. Great getting a second complete PS2 copy. I like the Dreamcast version better, the Mad Katz pura pack really beats to the music while strobing the red light. Someday I'll find the PS2 trance pak.
Liftoff 2 works great in removing the ugly sticker off the manual and case.
