Well, when you find the right one... Thanks for the complement. IT's sad that the wife and I got sick of all the hacking and lag in Reach, we loved killing together...

My girlfriend and I have been together over 5 years, and while marriage is something we've considered, we haven't really talked about it seriously. If it happens eventually, it will, we're in no rush.

We have a lot of overlapping interests, but she's not too much of a gamer herself. She is great at Katamari though and far, far better than me at it. She likes playing Animal Crossing too. Outside of that, she enjoys watching me play through the MGS games and anything else with a strong narrative.

Got too much of my own stuff to do, no time for a wife or girlfriend
As Short Round would say:

NICE hahaha

In all seriousness though, anybody who wants to know my stance on dating/marriage/relationships can look at the horrible derailing of ZeroAX's World Traveling thread. I don't know if you could even call that a stance on relationships, but pop idols are as close as I get. Not that I want to open that can of worms again, but I do feel like contributing my opinion and what little stuff my "wife" has said about video games.
Consider me one of those hardcore otaku types (as much as I hate that word...) whose interest in anime girls is strong enough to take the place of a real relationship, only my person of interest happens to be a real person. Yes, I know I'm crazy. Don't care

And on that note, when it comes to video games Aichan likes Final Fantasy and that's about it. Did promo for Final Fantasy XIII, claims to have beaten Final Fantasy X three times (in Japanese twice, English once) and is one of those people who grinds to the point where the final boss is easy (pretty hardcore~). When pressed about which other games she likes, she listed off a couple other RPGs...Seiken Densetsu was one of them, I remember.

Quotes, dude. You should know from our discussion last time that I'm not serious when I say that :P

Dude wtf.

Ok, you beat me to it.

Not that I can't understand being a little obsessed with idols or anime girls (they project a great image), but foregoing real relationships out of devotion to fantasy ones does warrant the "wtf".

Can't disagree

To keep it short..."fantasy" relationships make not dating considerably easier, but I doubt I'd be be getting myself tied up in it either way. Reasons earlier in this thread and in the thread I linked above.

Well, I used to say I didn't have time for women either. And I did find plenty of ways to fill my time and enjoy myself. I did find that I spent a lot of time thinking about women though, despite saying I didn't want a girlfriend. Really, I think I just didn't believe in myself at the time. Eventually, I decided I had worked on self betterment enough and I just needed to place a little faith in myself and also make the time for a relationship. It was the best thing I ever did. I don't know if you are the same as I was or not, but if you are- I can recommend the path I took.

Dating's not entirely out of the question forever, and maybe someday I'll end up doing something similar...but I'm really enjoying my life right now and couldn't imagine changing anything at the moment. I don't even see any reason why I'd change down the road, but of course nothing is permanent.
If this whole "fantasy relationship" thing were causing me social and emotional harm then it would be a different story, but all the people close to me have come to realize that's not all that unhealthy. In fact, if anything it's enabled me to take action and do some things I'd never have done otherwise...learn a second language, travel the world, develop a network of friends from a variety of backgrounds and cultures - and now that I've spent time doing those, I've finally figured out a direction for what I want to do with my life.

So call me crazy, but I feel this whole idol thing has actually set me on a great path of personal discovery and fulfillment and has done a lot to improve me as a person. Plus, if I weren't obsessed with this it'd undoubtedly be something else
