Personally I think the upscaler is pretty terrible; there is a very noticable quality drop. And if you go with the 1:1 display now you have a screen the size of the GBA micro.

For everyone who's annoyed at the current library, we're better off than when the DS originally launched. Give it time to pick up some steam.

It still looks fine to me, it's not like it makes the games unplayable. The text and everything else is clear and readable. I think people just like to complain for complaining's sake.

Yes, the software library at the moment isn't great, but no console is. The DS was absolutely shocking, we had a port of Mario 64, Polarium, Warioware and Project Rub. That was it, for several months. I had to resort to importing Yoshi Touch & Go because there was absolutely nothing worth buying on the system for months after launch, and even then Yoshi Touch & Go was pretty dire.

Think yourselves lucky, you've got Shadow Wars, Ridge Racer, Pilotwings and Street Fighter, then you have the Streetpass Quest, the Puzzle thing, Faceraiders and all the AR stuff to play with, that's a hell of a lot of gaming for a just-launched portable system. I honestly can't see why anyone would complain at the launch of the 3DS. It's pretty damn good considering.

yea i agree with niode SERIOUSLY playing DS games on the 3ds looks totally fine. I seriously dont see the issue at all. I think people just like to nick pick too much.

First its the 3d gives em heachach , second the ds games look bad on it.
The only thing i agree on would be the battery life.

He's just suggesting there's inevitably going to be a 3DS hardware update/revision in the (somewhat) near future. Which there will be. Probably multiple.

I'm hoping for a 3DS micro sp play it loud with color XL with improved back lighting model.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Nintendo pretty much always releases one new handheld system every year. If you have used a 3DS, you would see that it is pretty damn small already. It makes more sense for next year's model to be extra large. If they can also increase the battery life and the viewing angle for 3D, I will probably buy it.

Dunno about improving the viewing angle though. Thats pretty much the limitation of the screen. Increasing the screen size might allow easier viewing from further away, but aside from the viewing angle comment, I agree that we should expect a rehash in a years time :S
If you aren't having a good time, why are you playing?

Am I the only one that doesn't have an issue with the viewing angle? Do people really move their portables around a ton that this would be a problem?

I don't have an issue with it. Probably the only time I did was when I was playing Face Raiders and I either had to change the 3DS angle or trip over myself to shoot the face.
