Sony could have just put the entire world at risk of these hackers.
No offense but this really cracked me up...YoshiEgg25 wrote:Look at it this way: the hackers essentially have a supercomputer at their disposal, with the means and knowledge to use it effectively. I wonder if the people behind this will ever be caught. If they are caught - and they happen to be in a country that allows the US or the UK extradition privileges - the perpetrators are perhaps looking at a lot of prison time.
Sony's incompetence could potentially cause the most chaos in history.

Agree with this 100%. PS+ is a complete joke.Niode wrote:Stuff you buy you get to keep. The stuff you get free with Plus you can't keep. You must keep paying for the subscription. For that reason alone it's not worth the money. Ever. You're going to have to buy every single game they offer for free just to make the subscription work for you, chances are you're going to own quite a few of them anyway. The other perks you get just don't cover the cost of the service at all. It's pointless.
Are you being facetious, or....YoshiEgg25 wrote:Look at it this way: the hackers essentially have a supercomputer at their disposal, with the means and knowledge to use it effectively. Plus he didn't notice the stuff written on the next page. He was over-reacting to admittedly a pretty alarming article.

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

In fairness, the kind of fear-mongering found in that article is what one could expect at this stage. The hyperbole and scare-tactics tend to take the spotlight off the fact that multi-billion dollar, bigger-than-most-states corporation just got fraped by a couple of college students or teens looking to fill their school holidays.

That's the big issue. You'd expect a big company like that, holding millions of people's details, would be better secured. It is a complete and utter fail on a fundamental level that has led to this point. The security should have been better, and to top it all off, they committed the worst sin they could ever do, they trusted the client. NEVER trust the client, no matter what. I couldn't trust Sony after they took Linux away from me, now I know I was justified in that stance. I'm glad I got out before the card house collapsed.

Obviously, Friend Codes are the solution. Nintendo knew it all along.
