Isn't goodwill somewhat of a charity though? I think you're supposed to be buying for a good cause as well as your own materialistic desires.

Sort of. Their clientele is 90% poor mexicans though. And in store they have some rediculous prices on a lot of things, considering it's just junk that people GAVE them. No cause makes paying $45 for a non-guaranteed-to-work 13" LCD monitor from 2002 satisfying.

But if you're ever in need of a faux wood vhs tape drawer or a floppy disk container, goodwill is the place to be.

I've been on that site, its not worth going. When I find a rare game on there its always a high bidder who pays like ebay price. The winning bidder just wants mario rpg and cares less about the rest. If I had a snes back in the 90s I would have purchased it. Instead I rented the mario rpg and megman X so that I could play with a friend.

good luck finding a decent deal. most of the stuff goes for more than ebay prices. plus, as already said, shipping is high as the sky.

edit: just noticed benderx said the same thing as i did.
if you took a shit, please put it back

the winning bid for this will be insane. if you're dropping the money this will get to, i'm sorry, you got to offer returns if it doesn't work. especially if you got all the cords to test it. i'm thinking 300 takes it. the r/c battery pack is puzzeling though.

there are no returns. they don't test anything. etc, etc, etc.

this site is the main reason that i don't frequent goodwill as much anymore. most of their good stuff gets put online and if it isn't, then it's looked up in ebay and priced as such in the store. the frequency with which i used to find amazing deals at goodwill has dried up considerably in the last few years, which i think is a direct result of this site.

i found a sega CDX at a goodwill on the west side of indy, in the display case, without a price tag. when i asked a manager how much they wanted for it, she said it wasn't supposed to be there and it was going to be listed online, on shopgoodwill.com, and i could bid on it there. i was so pissed.

i think goodwill is a bullshit "charity" scheme anyway.

Goodwill Online occasionally get some interesting stuff, but it always seems like the word gets out about anything interesting before you can get it for a decent price.

Or faux wood anything for that matter.

I've heard that you can get some pretty good pc stuff on that site. Although, not too many people are into collecting older pc hardware/games.

Goodwill has always been a mixed bag for me. I once bought a bag FULL of Intellivision games for $10, COD:MW2 when it was new for $10, 40 metal LPs for $50....Things of that nature. However some stores wised up and started selling items for way more than their worth. I'm not paying $39.99 for a dirty beat up Genesis with no AC adapter.

The worst is when I found out they actually THROW AWAY a lot of stuff because they dont want to deal with it or someone claimed it didnt work. Especially old game systems and such. I actually complained to their corporate location who vehemently denied that they even throw anything away. I've had this confirmed by 3 store that they do in accordance with policy. So when you see someone bring back an SNES with a grocery bag full of games saying it didn't work, guaranteed it'll be in the dumpster out back by the end of the day.
