However, I just wanted to add that as a lesbian, I typically don't have to worry about my partners being interested in video games. It's more weeding out the vegans, feminists, birkenstocks, man haters, etc etc etc. Gaming is the least of the concerns over in my dating pool.

Just for a different perspective.
Oh, cool, I didn't know you were a lesbian. There's a lot more of other LGBT people here at Racketboy than I thought! :D
Wow, really? I mean, not to say it's OBVIOUS, but uh...well it's obvious lol.

I blog about games and art. Usually both at once. Check it out at your own risk.

I saw that in a Cronenberg film once.

Now that I think about it, it really was obvious. I'm just oblivious, I guess. :P Sorry, irixith.

I didn't know it either, but that's cool.

I'm rather cynical of marriage too, but with divorce rates around 50% its either gonna either work out ok or fail miserably. So yeah.

I look forward to seeing her smiling face every single day. I would rather peel my face off with a shit filled plastic spoon than miss one moment. Sorry guys, it is just about getting the right one.

Giving as much as you take......

"Pyramid head scares me...." Back on track now MJM
Thanks for the try wclem...but I fear another straight forward thread (Odd things spouses say in regard to our gaming habits) has turned into another one of these excercises where folks jump in before reading the thread topic.

If anyone wants to start a thread on their sexual preferences, how they "protect" their monies, or why they're unfortunate childhoods have so deluded them they are unable to count the contradictions embedded in their own posts - then please, feel free to start a new thread. There is a little icon, top left on the board index. "New Topic" - if this is confusing, pm me - i'll walk you through it.

At any rate, one last shot at getting on topic for those of us who aren't looking for a place to dump our personal miseries.

...and...continue.

Dude, chill out :D . We all read the first post. Threads get sidetracked. There was an invitation for it on page one. That conversation was winding down anyways. If you wanted to bring the thread back on track you could have said it without the rude "new topic" and "personal miseries" bits. Also, if you want to bring the thread back on track you should refrain from commenting on the off-topic discussion like you did and making a post that will obviously get more off-topic responses.

The conversation started about 12 hours ago - glad to know it was winding down before the majority of the community had a chance to view it?

Didn't think I was rude - or not sure that I need "chill out" either. In fact, I thought it was quite a muted response. I'll take your suggestions under advisement though...

It's actually just over 40% for first marriages and goes down significantly with children, so not quite as dire as 50-50. :)
