final fight cd wrote:i don't think i shared this story yet. but, my parents are selling some stuff on craigslist and i can't help but to think back to one of my very few craigslist experiences.
this was probably a year ago. somebody on craigslist listed a "16 sega bit" for 20 dollars. the picture posted was of a model 1 sitting on top of a sega cd model 1. i immediately sent an email. the seller said that it was local pick up only and gave me her address with a description of what her house was located by. so the next day i hopped in my car and drove to a very shady part of akron. and when i say shady, i'm not talking about trees blocking out the sun.
most streets were missing the street sign and i could not for the life of me find her location. i stopped TWICE to ask for directions; the first man completely ignored me and the second man accused me of being an undercover cop. the locals were VERY friendly. the only street that i found that somewhat matched her description was a dead end street. because of this, i ended up driving up and down it several times looking for the matching house number.
the first pass down the dead end street nothing happened. the second pass, a man sitting on his porch yelled "it's across the street." i didn't know if the man was yelling at me or somebody else, so i just kept on driving. the third pass, the man yelled something similar. it was at this point i thought that maybe the seller told him to "watch" over her craigslist deal in case anything bad happened.
for a forth time, i drove back down the dead end road and the guy yelled across the street, "here comes the car again." at this point two fucking thugs stepped out from a house and walked towards my car. i stopped my car, and as they approached me i idiotically said, "are you the guys selling the sega?"they both looked at each other and asked me if i was an undercover cop, which was the second time in 10 minutes that i was accused of being one (they obviously thought i was using "sega" as a code word for drugs). i denied, and they said that if they saw me drive back down that street again they would block my car in and kill me (i forget exactly what was said, but it was something to that affect).
so i am pretty sure a drug deal - or some kind of illegal deal - was going to go down that day, which explains why people were ignoring me when asked for directions and why i was accused of being an undercop twice.
moral of story: when in a shady part of town, don't ask random thugs where the sega is at.

I've been noticing recently, whenever someone states their video-gaming brand preference, be it Sega, Sony or the like, it-nine times outta ten-is justifed with
the statement "because they take risks, yanno?"

Heh,I keep my SNES games in alphabetical order too, but I LOVE that Doom and Killer Instinct are different colors. It just gives my collection some personality having a couple carts that look different than the rest. Also makes finding nearby games a bit easier (like, if I want to play a Kirby game, all I have to do is find the black cart and move my fingers to the right a bit).SwooshBear wrote:Im very OCD when it comes to organizng my games collection. I put my Snes games in alphabetical order and since Killer Instinct and Doom aren't grey carts like the others, it really bothers me
I'm known as ZebetiteGlitch or Zeza Von Thantos on other platforms.

I still really wish they gave LTTP the gold cart treatment as they did the original Zelda's on the NES.

Damn sexy.
I had the idea a long time ago of making one and trying to sell it for a lot on eBay or something.
