Racketboy Steam Group: Unreal Tournament (5/6/2011)

Post by J T »

The first tournament didn't quite work out today, and that was largely my fault for not setting up the server correctly and for having other things unexpectedly interfere, so I'm trying again for next Friday.

We'll have two times since people complained about the time being inconvenient.

Time 1:
12:00 noon (PST), which is 7:00pm (UST)
Duration = 2 hours

Time 2:
8:00 pm (PST), which is 3:00am (PST)
Duration = As long as people can play.

I can only be there for Time 1, which I will get started. Look for a multiplayer game that has Racketboy as a server name. Someone else will have to set up the server for Time 2, or you will have to find an existing server that you all can agree to meet on.

To set up a game, there is info here:
http://www.oldunreal.com/wiki/index.php ... rver_Guide

I didn't have to do every step laid out in that link. Like, I didn't have to edit my .ini files, for example. I was able to get a Racketboy server listed in the main list just by using the menu options within the game, punching in my IP address and port, and making it a dedicated server. What you will need to know though is that you then control the game setting, bans, etc. from the following web address: http://69.91.152.44/ServerAdmin/

Well, I got Kevinski to play in game with me for a little while. So, we know this can work. We just need more people to play.

The next one happens later. Someone else will need to start the match and play the role of dedicated server.
