They most likely will be as fondly remembered. You have to pretend your first memories of gaming involve holding a PS2 controller that's too big for you, trying to get past the first level of Scooby Doo Night of 100 Frights or something. Every generation is as nostalgic for their past as any other. Besides, most of the current retro consoles, especially the disc based ones, will probably have broken down or become very expensive by the time the 360 is retro, so they'll have to fall back on the current systems of today.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:You know, a lot of newer games are great, but, in 20 years time, I don't think they'll be remembered with the same fondness we have for the current retro systems.
I think I have a lot more fun with newer games than older ones, but, I just can't see myself being all that fond of the PS2, PS3, Xbox 360 etc. in 20 years.

Every time someone brings up Persona 4, I reinforce my hope for a Persona 4 Portable for the 3DS, as was rumored.
Anyway, some good news! Tales of the Abyss 3D is getting localized in the fall! As with all new Tales games, I will be preordering it the day it is available, and will buy the special edition if one is released. You can never get enough Tales.

Finally got around to playing Tomba. Played the demo countless times as a kid and finally picked a copy up for a decent price a couple years ago, but put it on the backlog...was about to list my copy in my b/s/t thread since it'll be on PSN soon; popped it in real quick to test it and suddenly I'm hooked.
This game is absolutely incredible and so unique...piles of stuff to do, great soundtrack, light-hearted and engaging story, charming world and characters.
Platformer/RPG is such a fun combination, I'd go as far as to say I consider it near ideal for my tastes. 'Dream game' material, even. I'm really kicking myself now for not playing it sooner...
