Ok - a quite a few of us have wives. Many of them would fall under "non-gamer". Another many of you have been privy to odd things my wife in particular has said.
The most asinine being when I popped in Radiant for the first time and she said, "Well, isn't this just like space invaders then."
Well folks, tonight, we have a new frontrunner. As I played Intelligent Qube for the first time - she looked on, felt comfortable, readied herself, and said, "So then, this...this game you are playing. This is not a SHMUP?"
She is a good mom. A good wife. But I am very very disturbed.
At any rate. I am interested in hearing any other wife-isms my racketeers can share? Please post below with anticipated adoration....

No, she is..."trying" to be involved/supportive for sure. But, some of the things she says I just shake my head and laugh.

Re: Wives...
I'm quite fascinated by the fact that some members here have wives who don't share their interests. Personally, I couldn't marry someone who didn't love what I love. Looking at the people I interact with on a daily basis, I find many of them boring because they are not into the kinds of things that I like. It's mostly just me smiling, nodding and looking for a way out of the conversation as George Carlin would say. I tried talking tv with someone at work the other day and got blank stares when I mentioned Doctor Who and Fringe. Then she starting talking about some reality program and I was like, "Oh, that sounds nice" and put my headphones back on and went back to work
Statistically, they say couples last longer when they have things in common

I 'm afraid I can't remember any of the funnier ones off the top of my head, but there's been a few that were pretty special.
I'll get back to you on this, I promise.

For the most part I agree, but its possible to build a common interest.Gamerforlife wrote:I'm quite fascinated by the fact that some members here have wives who don't share their interests. My wife was not a gamer when she met me.
Nowadays, she's as excited for, as an example, the new Elder Scrolls game as I am. So much so that we are genuinely considering buying two copies.

My wife and I have have many things in common and have very similar morals and sense-of-humor. We do not in any way share the same love for video games. With that said, 10 years, 4 kids, and both of us (I believe?Gamerforlife wrote: Statistically, they say couples last longer when they have things in common

I think I understand the attraction now LOL. Well, that's good that you have a happy marriage. I haven't been down that road yet so it's interesting to hear other members discuss their married life.
