Smile: Hosting a BBQ and Poker game tonight with about a dozen friends or so. Maybe a bonfire, too.

Frown: I have a shit-ton of work that is supposed to be done by Sunday with no will to do any of it :(

Are the two connected, or a coincidence?

He wasn't one already? He scolds us and tells us to behave so often I assumed he was one.

Coincidence. Which I guess is better.

My job sucked, but it did pay the bills. Hard times are ahead for me. I was fired because according to management I wasn't "prioritizing" work. I tried arguing that my productivity numbers were on a par, or better, than those of my co-workers (I worked in the equivalent of the Census Bureau in Brazil), to no avail. Their perception is that I'm a slacker.

Right after receiving this bit of awesome news, I went to the university to leave some documents regarding my Master's degree application and met my girlfriend. She was acting weird and I asked what was going on. She then told me she wasn't enjoying dating me as much as before. We had had this talk before. Things really weren't the same after numerous fights and we were trying to work things out as they went. We did try to break up before because of the constant bickering, but always ended up together again.

It totally caught me off guard this time, then, when she said she wanted to break up. We weren't fighting, nor were we having any problems at all. She just wasn't in the mood for it anymore.

I didn't even want to argue. I just tiredly accepted, the day was too long already.

Ugh. Terrible end to the week man. Take a breather over the weekend, collect your thoughts or be distracted by friends, then attack the job problem on Monday.
