I've read, reread and reread that article. It was very informative, but kind of hard to understand for someone inexperienced, like myself.
EDIT: Looks like I'll have to buy a network adapter as well. Damn.

By all means ask, always glad to help. There are so many repeat posts asking about HDAdvance and HDLoader.

Prefer the questions be posted in the SD Gecko - HDAdvance Guide for an easy to find reference in the future.

The network adapter is also what connects the hard drive to a PS2 fat. Just to be sure, you do have a fat, right?

Well I formatted the HDD and ripped all the games to it, still waiting for my memory cards to come from dealextreme unfortunately.

Hatta wrote:I've never had to use FTP with my PS2. Hdl_dump is sort of FTP like, but it handles the extraction of files from the iso and putting them in the right place by itself. If you have FMCB you can launch the hdld_svr.elf from the hard disk, usb stick, or memory card with uLaunchELF.

Edit: BTW, it takes about 25 minutes to copy over DVD with HDLD on my network.
It takes longer than that for me if I use the official hdld_svr.elf, but I've found I get faster transfer speeds if I use the built-in server from OPL.
