I was never that impressed with Mario 64. Tomb Raider was the very first 3-d game that truly blew my mind. I hated Mario 64's camera and wasn't fond of the mission based structure. I want my Mario games to be about surviving and making it to the end of the level, not doing odd jobs in each level and marking off a checklist.

I still consider Conker's Bad Fur Day the best 3-d platformer on the N64. It COMPLETELY blows Mario 64 right out of the water. I LOVED Mischief Makers as well, but that's 2-d

All this Mario 64 hate...it's like an alternate universe.

I love it. I don't care. And I never owned an N64. I've relied on emulation for the most part.

Did you at least own the cartridge to make that emulation legal?
Atari 2600 (AV mod), NES, SNES (region switch for PAL), Virtual Boy, Gamecube, Wii (D2CKey), PSX (Stealth V), PS2 (independence exploit w/ 160 GB HDD), Goldstar 3DO, Philips CD-i, Dreamcast, Saturn (racketboy's chip), Sega Genesis 2 + CD2 + 32X + Power Base Converter, Game Gear.

Sure. Why not?

Okay. I didn't want to have to turn you in... Now, with that being said, I am going to go burn Brawl to play on my Wii so I can not enjoy it.

i'm glad to see that i'm not the only one w/ mixed feelings about the game. i wonder if the people on this forum are more discriminating against games in general than the average reviewer (as evidenced by the fact that mario 64 still gets on top 10 best games of all time lists). i had mixed feelings about ocarina and RE4 as well. but i think my tastes are a bit weird.

Well RE4 doesn't belong on any Top 10 lists, aside from Top 10 disappointments.

That sheer wrongness of that statement amazes me. RE 4 is one of the best games on GC hands down and it should rightfully be on ANY top ten list

Fine, you can put it on the top ten for GC, as long as it's at 6th place, behind RE0,1,2,3,CV. It's the worst in the core series, and I don't care what anyone has to say. RE4 was designed for whiny babies who couldn't handle the real entries.

Actually I think it was intentionally designed to piss all the pre-RE4 elitists off. Capcom sat around one day, and was like "Hmmmm... how can we design RE4, to where it'll make all the whiny bitches of the internet cry and moan about how it's 'not Resident Evil' for years to come, despite it being awesome?" After some thought, someone stood up and said "I know! Let's fix the controls, get rid of the shitty save system and actually make the game more accessible and fun to play!", and thus RE4 was born. Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's what went down.
