Re: Random Thoughts Thread
So Monday night I had spaghetti and I apparently left the extra meat sauce cooling on the stove too long before I put it away. I has the rest of it last night but it seemed ok rewarmed and on some fresh noodles. So about 5 this morning I started feeling nauseous enough that I dreamed I was throwing up and woke up. I have very vivid dreams, but thankfully I was just dreaming. So I went and curled up next to the toilet for a bit until my stomach calmed down a bit. Then I grabbed the trash can, left the bathroom light on as a night light, and crawled back into bed and tried to go back to sleep. A little bit later I was again awoken by dreams of intense reverse peristalsis.
But here's the weird part. For this second dream, I was driving around with a high school friend and Trent Reznor. When the urge hit we were passing a paved drainage ditch with sloped sides and they stopped the car. So there I am hurling the contents of my stomach out an open car door down the slope while my friend and Trent Reznor laugh at me. I awoke at this point, again relieved that I was not making a mess.
I son't know why Trent was in my dream or where we were driving. I haven't listened to any NIN in quite a while, nor have I read anything recently regarding him. I know my job has been making me crazy, but I have no idea where that came from.

Some of the other details are a bit fuzzy now, but between the friend and his t-top Buick I'm pretty sure it was late Pretty Hate Machine or early Broken era.Rurouni_Fencer wrote:early 90's 'goth' Trent, or 2000's 'beefy' Trent?

Maybe you were all headed to the Tate house for a recording session with Manson..Hobie-wan wrote:Some of the other details are a bit fuzzy now, but between the friend and his t-top Buick I'm pretty sure it was late Pretty Hate Machine or early Broken era.Rurouni_Fencer wrote:early 90's 'goth' Trent, or 2000's 'beefy' Trent?

Aw man, I want to dream about Reznor. Preferably goth trent rather than beefy trent or Perfect Drug mildly pudgy trent.

Re: Random Thoughts Thread
You know, one of the projects I really want to do is writting a newbie guide to rhytmn games but I'm really bad at the format and lenght.
I'm going to cover the six games I most recommend but it's just too long! Beatmania IIDX took me around 800 words, so the article ends up taking too much space for what I'm saying on it and, thus, it becomes unsuitable for the goal I want it for.
I wonder if I should write a small article with shorter descriptions and then add a link to a bigger article on the game in question, where I would explain how to obtain the games and which controllers to get.
I think the three problems in my writting: Too dry, too overloaded (Because I overcompensate the first) and an overuse of generic phrases that look great but end up making the reviews generic and souless.
I think that the point of a review is explaining to the reader why something is good or bad not just saying it is. The idea is to disect it so the reader can make a choice, not to tell them what the choice is. When I start using phrases like "great level design" and don't explain the why all I'm doing is adding filler.
