Just an update. I've found new love in retro games! Specifically in the PC area. DOSBox has recently become my best friend, and, there are so many shareware titles that I can easily try before buying the actual game. I've had a small collection of DOS games for a while but I've never gotten into it like I have as of recently.

That said I don't know if I'll ever be into retro games as much as I used too though. It's probably only a matter of time before I get tired of DOSBox and all the old PC games I've been playing through. That's okay though, because, right now it's giving me some new experiences and I'm really enjoying that. Unfortunately, retro games are stagnant. You can find new consoles to play and new things to see for a while but it's only a matter of time before those experiences run dry, or, I just get bored with them.

At the same time though, I'm finding it very difficult to sell off some of my prized possessions. I tried listing a couple Genesis games I've had since I was a small child on eBay the other day and I now finally know what nostalgia feels like. The feeling was intense, and, at this point, even if I don't play these things, I think I'll keep them for the memories.

I still really enjoy reading and talking about retro games though, and we have quite a few topics on new games as well here. So it's not like I'm going anywhere... possibly to the dismay of some

You need to get X-COM. I really fun turn based strategy that really makes you work at doing well.
