I'm going to need your help with a school project

Post by KillemallCFH »

Hey all,

For the final for my Web Programming class, we were basically told to just make any web application we could think of. Of course, the nerd that I am, my application has to do with video games. Specifically, it's an application aimed at collectors missing certain parts of games - i.e. boxes, cases, manuals, the game itself, etc (basically just a web application that's trying to be a more organized version of this thread).

So, what I'm gonna need from you guys is to populate the site for me! I certainly could just go in and register a bunch of users, and add stuff myself, but I thought it would be cool to have real people use it and give any feedback. I'm not sure when I'm gonna be done with it and it'll be up - probably around May 6th or 7th - but I'll bump this thread with a link to it when it's ready. I really don't care if you put stuff you actually have/need, or just make stuff up, but I would be very appreciative of anyone who would be willing to help me out.

Thanks!

Depending on what my work is doing, I should be able to help.

Pfft, that doesn't have checks for registration cards, magazine ads, dust covers, or plastic baggies for cart games. A notes field for LE or misprints might be good too.

I'll be more than happy to help man. Being the Graphic Design/Computer Art major that I am I more than understand this! Let me know what you need.
I am addicted to video games, especially retro gaming from my era. I have: NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Gameboy, GBA, Wii, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Xbox, and Xbox 360. I have probably over 1,000 games in total for all these systems combined. Yes, I need help and I wouldn't have it any other way! This is my passion and hey my wife still loves me!!

Exactly like that :). But much, much worse because it's being written by a single over-worked CS Major who has 4 other finals he has to worry about on top of this.

Sure, why not? I would be glad to have something to keep a more thorough track of my Gamecube collection.

Just so you guys don't get your hopes up too much, when I present it to you guys in a couple of weeks, it is going to be very bare-bones (and certainly a lot worse than other sites out there). As I said, I'm working on it alone, it's just one of five finals, and it's stuff I've never really done before (My professor's approach to teaching is very much "I'll show you the basics; go figure everything else out yourselves").

However, if there's enough interest, I'd be happy to work on it more when the semester's over and turn it into something people could actually want to use. (And I'd of course be open to any other computer geeks who would want to lend a hand :) .)

Thanks again guys!
