That's the crux of the issue though. Why should we? Why are we forced to do that?MrPopo wrote:You get to decide what's important to you as a consumer.

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
Re: Anonymous strikes again
Why would these people be numbnuts for being angry about something and doing something about it? If you don't agree with the "numbnuts" then of course you wouldn't boycott Sony. But if you're upset with what Sony is doing and you continue to buy Sony consoles then you have no right to be upset is all I was trying to say. I don't even own a PS3, but actions like removing a feature from a console after purchase makes me question whether I want a PS3. The idea is that I may decide to use that feature in the future, and what right does anyone have to take that feature away after I made a purchase with the understanding that the feature would be there?noiseredux wrote:I love the games offered on PS3. So I should boycott Sony because a bunch of numbnuts think they're making a stand against the colossus from their moms' basements? I can't help but go back to Flake's statement: THESE ARE FUCKING GAMES!SegaBlack wrote: However, I do not agree with hacking PSN (if that's what happened) to punish Sony. If Sony's customers are unhappy then they need to punish Sony by boycotting Sony's products in the future. Bringing down PSN may be a nuisance to Sony, but it punishes gamers more.

did you even read what you first wrote? You're saying that customers should punish SONY because we're angry that hackers disabled our PSN access.SegaBlack wrote:Why would these people be numbnuts for being angry about something and doing something about it? Re: Anonymous strikes again
The right you gave them, per agreeing to the TOS once you take your console on the PSN. The fact is that everyone who lost this feature did so willingly. Shit, they even put up an extra warning screen on the update.SegaBlack wrote:What right does anyone have to take that feature away after I made a purchase with the understanding that the feature would be there?
If we can have a discussion about the legality of the TOS, how they might be challenged, etc. - then we can get somewhere. Otherwise, this is pointless.
Re: Anonymous strikes again
I'm sorry if that was the way it came off, that is not what I was trying to say. What I was trying to say is that people shouldn't be stupid and try to bring down PSN because they don't like what Sony is doing. They should speak with their wallet and stop supporting Sony.noiseredux wrote: did you even read what you first wrote? Listen to what I mean and not what I say.

oooooooooooooooh. Ok. Not at all what I thought you meant. Alright, then we're in agreement then. Haha.SegaBlack wrote: I'm sorry if that was the way it came off, that is not what I was trying to say. The TOS is usually so long and vague that I understand that most people don't bother reading them, but if they even have an extra warning screen then you can't really bitch about it...
Re: Anonymous strikes again
Regardless of what the TOS says, Sony cannot unilaterally change the terms of contracts.
We are prepared to live in the plain and die in the plain!

Why do you keep acting like what Sony did was illegal when numerous court cases have made it clear that they were within their rights as far as the law is concerned?Hatta wrote:Regardless of what the TOS says, Sony cannot unilaterally change the terms of contracts.
