Ouch. What an insult to America. Sony think we are dumber than Japan and Europe.

Apparently they're right, they wouldn't just continue production if it wasn't selling.

I would like to see them at least come out with an attachment so when you upgrade, you could still play your UMD games. Instead I have to download the same game I already own, or carry two different systems. At that point, the "portability" is pretty slim, and defeats the purpose of the device all together.
wasn't there a UMD-reader add-on discussed at one point? I really think it would make sense.

SONY think about it... you can actually take AWAY a function of the handheld, only to sell us an attachment to play the games we already bought.
It was rumored, but I don't think it's going to happen.

I will bet its still cancelled but Sony America just isn't ready to admit it yet. What will happen is they will say they are still supporting it but slowly and quietly phase out production and sales until people forget about it. That way they can save face and not admit to their shareholders that it was a dismal failure. They are focused on NGP now and that is what they will talk about from now on. There is a thread on CAG about how many Sams clubs across the country are clearancing the PSP Gos out, some as low as $58. That suggests to me its discountinued.

Even I have to admit that that is a ridiculous price. I'd consider getting one for that.

Sony officially announced that production will continue for the US and Canada, although it really is over in Europe and Japan. Here's the article: http://www.gamespot.com/news/6309938.html

Yeah they've been going for next to nothing over here. It's almost worth getting one just to put CFW on it and play ISOs and emulators on it.
