I know you like those UMDs man but they were a pretty stupid idea hardware-wise.
Moving parts on a handheld is what we don't need. Although, I won't deny that they look pretty cool.
they're so pretty in their little boxes though...
If Sony would have used the exsting Hi-MD minidisc tech all would have been much better in the long run. Games would have been cheaper and the reliability would have been through the roof.
Anyhow, any dead PSP-Go is a good PSP-Go.

I said Sony should use cartridges for portable systems. You said the NGP will (use cartridges). Then I said that the NGP isn't actually a portable system since you cannot replace the battery.
In other words, after 500 charges or whatever it is, the NGP battery will be unable to hold a charge, which will force you to plug it into a wall socket if you want to play it. You will not be able to play it in an airplane. It stops being portable.
The PS3 controllers work the same way. They are only wireless for a few years and then they will be wired only. Sony sucks.

You say the PS3 controllers are only wireless for a few years, well, I've had mine since 2007, and it still holds a good charge.
Although most people probably wont, you can replace the battery yourself in most of these devices with a little know how. Most companies also offer battery changes for a small fee as well.

Yeah yeah. The PS3 controllers would generally last more than a few years. It depends on how many times you charge it. Someone who plays their PS3 constantly would kill the battery sooner. My point is that since you cannot replace the battery, it eventually loses its wireless ability.
Motion controls aside, I actually prefer wired because I don't have to fuck around with recharging batteries and shit. Just plug it in and it works. I just think it's assholish of Sony not to let people replace batteries.

It is, but it had nothing to do with the fact that NGP will use cartridges with their own storage. A big improvement over the UMDs.
A battery change will still be possible, it just won't be as simple as it should be.
