Moving parts on a handheld is what we don't need. Although, I won't deny that they look pretty cool.

PSP Go... jeez. I'll just quote the AVGN on this one. What a piece of shit.

I would like to see them at least come out with an attachment so when you upgrade, you could still play your UMD games. Instead I have to download the same game I already own, or carry two different systems. At that point, the "portability" is pretty slim, and defeats the purpose of the device all together.Opa Opa wrote:I know you like those UMDs man but they were a pretty stupid idea hardware-wise.noiseredux wrote:note to Sony: bring back UMD!

I saw this coming like a runaway freight train. Thankfully I talked my brother out of getting one.

wasn't there a UMD-reader add-on discussed at one point? I really think it would make sense.puke_face wrote:

SONY think about it... you can actually take AWAY a function of the handheld, only to sell us an attachment to play the games we already bought.
Re: PSP Go discontinued
I love the PSPgo. Bought it as a 'What the hell' toy when the used price dipped down to $99. Hacked the shit out of it and ripped all my UMDs to the sucker. Best of both worlds, buy the UMDs cheap, play it legally on my PSPgo.
Haters gonna hate.
Haters gonna hate.
If you aren't having a good time, why are you playing?
Re: PSP Go discontinued
Exploiting the device to give it more features and the ability to play non-PSN released titles doesn't make it any better. That's completely besides the point.avrame wrote:I love the PSPgo. Re: PSP Go discontinued
I really liked my PSPGo, I like my PSP 1k more of course, but, the PSPGo was a great device. I think it probably would have taken off if:
New games on PSN cost $20 dollars instead of the $40 in stores, and older games would be priced at $5 or $10.
It had a UMD drive add-on, the thing is thin, so, adding a UMD drive on the back probably wouldn't have been too cumbersome.
It didn't cost $250.
That said, I haven't kept up on the hacking status of the PSPGo since I've had it. If emulators are possible now, it still has some worth. I think I would have probably kept mine if I had been able to play old games on it. I really hate the emulators I have on my iPhone. They never seem to work properly either.

Older. Not wiser.

I'm glad the PSP Gofuckyourself failed. There is some hope left for people after all. We aren't that stupid, thankfully.
The UMD was a terrible idea also. Sony should use cartridges for portable systems, like Nintendo does.
