^ I'll drink DD and Sbux when I'm in a pinch, but I'd rather avoid the stuff if I can. DD tastes like stale tea mixed with Rolling Rock, and Sbux tends to over roast most of their batches (Charbucks), and this destroys essential oils and flavors and leaves a stingy acrid mouth feel. This all coming from someone who meticulously roasts, grinds, and brews his coffee in several different fashions.
I've successfully encouraged a handful of my friends and family to do their own roasting, grinding, brewing, and cupping. It's cheaper than you think! And the pleasure of tasting fresh coffee is paradise.

Meh, I rarely drink coffee, and when I do it has to be black. If it's not so bitter I feel my soul whither, it's not good coffee.

McDonald's coffee is actually surprisingly good. However, it is the hottest fucking liquid on the planet.
