So you've never completely powered it off then?noiseredux wrote:I ran the HEN on mine once. I've never had to re-"hack" it to use it.irixith wrote:I agree, get a PSP.
However, I'd recommend a -2000 over a -3000, simply because the screen on the -2000 is much nicer, and you open yourself up to a world of piracy and homebrew and emulators. (Yes, you can have a HEN on the -3000, but who wants to hack it every time they want to play an emulator or something. Bleh.)

Every time I put mine in sleep mode, I forget about it, only to come back to no battery.

really? I've had on such problems. I'll leave mine sleeping for a day or two, turn it on and still have 2/3rds battery.irixith wrote:Every time I put mine in sleep mode, I forget about it, only to come back to no battery.

So apparently you have to "rehack" the 3000 every time you power it off?

Re: NGP vs PSP-3000
if you HARD RESET it rather than just shut it down, then you have to simply launch the HEN from the XMB again. It takes less than a minute to do so. But like I said, if you're not in the habit of fully powering down (holding the off switch for 5 secs or whatever) everytime you shut it off, then you won't even need to do that.env963 wrote:So apparently you have to "rehack" the 3000 every time you power it off?

That doesnt sound so bad... and i dont really want to spend over $130 on psp anyways. So the 3000 is hackable but it takes longer to get your "homebrew" up and running correct? If i just shut down the PSP, with the power button, i need to go through a few more steps to get the "homebrew" up and running again? Is that correct?

Re: NGP vs PSP-3000
3000 uses HEN (sotware hack) just like the 2000 I use. 2000's have better screens. You only need to re-start the HEN if you power down by holding the power button for 5 secs to reset the system software. If you just hit the power button, it goes into sleep mode and you're fine. This is what I do all the time.env963 wrote:

there's guides at wololo.net that walk you through the initial process based on (A) which model you have and (B) which firmware it's running.
Re: NGP vs PSP-3000
Thanks for info... guys. Ill look around at a used PSP2000, but i kind of hate having to buy a used system (i dont want to spend $200). May opt for the 3000. Because i have no idea how it was treated or abused by the former owner. I remember buying an xbox on ebay, and getting it, it reeked of cigarettes. gross...

That's why I bought a new 3000, all of the used systems around here are in terrible shape.env963 wrote:Thanks for info... guys.
