Step 1: Get yourself some cash.
Step 2: Get yourself one of these.
Step 3: Sit back and relax as your thumb thanks you.

That controller is fast becoming my favourite from any system! Well worth the money. The only reason I gave you that particular link is that it's one of the only places you can still buy it from.
that's pretty.

I'm very strongly considering this though:

oh I'm not opposed to that NeoGeo one. I actually keep forgetting that most USB controllers will work on a PS3 (right?)

Yes, most do. Some don't. There's probably a compatibility list out there somewhere.

/me stops derailing the thread with PS3 love

If you want a solid Neo-Geo pad knockoff for PC, 360 (and I believe tit works for PS3 if configured correctly like a Saturn USB controller) check out the new Marvel Vs Fighting pad that came out around when MVC 3 released.

It's a near perfect Neo Geo pad ripoff complete with micro-switched mini thumbstick and fully microswitched buttons:

It's $60-$90 online and sold out everywhere, except for GameStop where it's still $40 and in stock. I've also got one at my store I could grab for you if you're interested.
My Consoles:
Genesis - Nomad - SegaCD - GameGear - Sega Saturn - Dreamcast - NES - SNES - N64 - Gamecube - Wii - Playstation - PSone & LCD - PS2 - PS3 - Xbox - 3DS

got a link to the GS product page?

EDIT: nevermind, found it. It's kinda ugly IMO. And wired. Think I'll stick with the SF4 pad.

But the SF4 one is just as ugly and large, and wireless lagged. :P

On a serious note, try for a Saturn USB pad. It's just as comfy and awesome as the original ones and works on the PS3 no prob. Plus, it's typically only $20-$30 online.

the SF4 ones aren't ugly. They're just single characters. That 360 one is so busy. I just don't like the look.

Lag? Really? How much lag? I sit like 2 feet from my PS3. I have no lag with my Dualshock.

What most attracts me to the SF4 pad is it looks the same size/shape/layout as my PS2 SF2 pad. Which I love!!

The DualShock has no lag as it's a direct feed controller, but the 3rd party wireless PS3 fightpads coupled with certain TV's make me all wonky at games. It's the whole controller that's wireless then emulating a wired one at the reciever dongle on the USB port that introduces lag when coupled with my already latent TV.

By ugly I just meant the shape and size make if feel like a bloated Saturn controller rather than a proper fightpad. It always seems to throw me off a bit when I use one as I prefer light and small controllers.

Probably this or other climate-related issues. They don't just randomly decide to stop working, there's always some reason.

I've never had an issue with any PS1 memory cards though. I regularly use the first two that I've ever bought back in 96 or whenever.
Well I do practically live in the Australian bush. One Minute its freezing cold, the next its as hot as hell. That's random Perth weather for you, changes whenever it damn well pleases.
