NGP vs PSP-3000

Post by env963 »

I am seriously thinking about picking up a PSP. I know the NGP is around the corner but i don't know the price of this unit and I have a strong feeling i can expect it to be $299 from reports and rumors i have seen. The only way I would consider a NGP is $250. If its more than that, forget it! I am one of those people who can't get themselves to pay more for a portable than my main console. Or even the same price. I JUST CANT DO IT!!!

Any rate I do have a nintendo DS lite and I find myself playing it very little, mostly because i find the screen too small and the games too catered to kids. I do find a few gems in the crowd but the buttons on it are so small that it gives me finger cramps, and I do have small fingers. (BTW plants vs zombies is pretty cool. EXCEPT i dont feel like yelling into the mic to root on the plants on level 2 or 3 or whatever it was....)

Anyways back to my point. Should i just on the PSP at $130 8) Or wait for the NGP pricing.. I think if it came out at $250, i would probably pick it up. At $300 forget it. I could just spend $130 for a PSP and get a ton of games before it would add up to $300. That is my delemia. I feel like a kid in a candy store. LOL

Get both (but get a 2000 model instead of a 3000). The NGP won't play UMDs, so there's good reason to hold onto the PSP even after it comes out.

Why buy a 2000 vs the 3000?

I agree, get a PSP.

However, I'd recommend a -2000 over a -3000, simply because the screen on the -2000 is much nicer, and you open yourself up to a world of piracy and homebrew and emulators. (Yes, you can have a HEN on the -3000, but who wants to hack it every time they want to play an emulator or something. Bleh.)

Get a PSP, plus if you buy the games digitally, you can play them on your NGP when it drops to a price that you're willing to pay, because I'll tell you right now, it isn't going to be $250.

I ran the HEN on mine once. I've never had to re-"hack" it to use it.

Get a PSP and only pick up a 2000 if you are interested in emulation. I have a 3000 and I love the screen despite what other people have reported.

Wow, people have totally jacked up the price for a "new" psp 2000.. $180 - $200... if i could find a slightly used one.. i could live with that.
