Ticked off: The damn memory cards which I haven't touched have corrupted themselves somehow. The only explanation is that they're third party made, not official Sony.
That used to happen to all my damn memory cards even back when PS1 was current. Including the Sony ones. I had one clear lucky Nuby memory card that I kept my RPG saves on and never failed me. Although I had two other Nuby memory cards that were complete trash.

Even the Sony ones? How can we win?
Luckily my memory cards did last me through my PS1 playing prime but now if I want to play them I have to use my PS3, which sucks because all I want to do is get nostalgic and play my games on my original PlayStation.

I know what you mean, I played a few of my old games on my PS3, then ended up switching to my PS1. The PS1 was the first system I could call my own so playing the games exactly how I played them back when they were new is the only way to really get that nostalgic feeling. I picked up a Performance Mega Memory Card a few months ago which has been working for me, but I've heard others had problems with them.

Yeah I also noticed that the original pads felt better as well for the older games. The back triggers on the back of the Dualshock 3's push in too much, which is okay for new games but just doesn't feel natural for the oldies.

Am I the only person who, in the 8 years I've used memory cards, has never had a memory card lose a save? It probably helps that I only bought first-party cards, but still. Well, I do have 1 third-party card for my N64, but in the 5 years I've had it, it's never lost a save either. I've lost plenty of cartridge saves though.

smile: I'm starting to get the hang of Super Street Fighter IV.

ticked. My left thumb is killing me. The standard PS3 controller is NOT meant for fighting games!

I've only had one issue with a memory card for the PS1, and that centers around it no longer being recognized by my PS2. I've opened to see if there was any visible damage (there wasn't) and cleaned it thoroughly, but I guess it's just hosed.

I have a cheapo PS1 card I bought with my PS2 back in 2000 so I could play SOTN. Still works fine. Maybe people with dry winters zapped them? Being in the swamp here static is rarely an issue.

Probably this or other climate-related issues. They don't just randomly decide to stop working, there's always some reason.

I've never had an issue with any PS1 memory cards though. I regularly use the first two that I've ever bought back in 96 or whenever.

Step 1: Get yourself some cash.
Step 2: Get yourself one of these.
Step 3: Sit back and relax as your thumb thanks you.

That controller is fast becoming my favourite from any system! Well worth the money. The only reason I gave you that particular link is that it's one of the only places you can still buy it from.
