I bought the Fallout Collection recently. It has Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout: Tactics all on the same disk. I heard that the patch for Fallout 1 removes the 500 day time limit and that the Fallout 2 patch is considered essential because it removes so many bugs. Problem is, I can't seem to download the most recent patches. It keeps giving me an error message saying my version is not compatible. I have the UK version and made sure to try the UK version patches. I'm wondering if its possible that they came with the patches already on the disk? Is there a way to check which patches are already downloaded (Assuming there are any)? And really, how bad are the glitches in Fallout 2? Is it the kind of stuff that as long as you save often you won't get screwed if it happens? Or is it things that are 100% unavoidable and WILL always effect your game at certain points?
EDIT: Problem resolved.

Re: A little help with that thar Fallout
For Fallout 1, if the UK patches won't work, I'd try the US patches. Maybe they accidently wrote the wrong version to the disc.
For Fallout 2, you really should get the patch. The glitches are pretty bad, and you WILL be affected by one eventually. Don't bother playing till you patch it. Plus, I wouldn't play 2 until I finished the first game, since 2 is harder.

Re: A little help with that thar Fallout
Alright, I got the Fallout 2 patch to work. I found the big fan forum No Mutants Allowed and downloaded the one by Killap that automatically did everything for me. If somebody could help me find a patch for Fallout 1 that automatically installs there will be zero chance of me screwing it up.
EDIT: And I just realized I didn't even think about Fallout Tactics. Does it need a patch as well or can I skip it?
