What are some games you consider as "must play"?

Everyone (I think) here has played a lot of games on a variety of platforms. We know what makes a game good, and we also know what sets a good game apart from a legendary one. All I want to know is what games you think fall under the "must play" category - If you can only list one, then list it. But I won't be surprised if you can list fifty.

I'll let you start because I'm so nice.

I don't think there's such a thing. Different people like different things, so one "must play" is other's indiference. I can make strong recommendations for most people but not "must plays".

Except for Ballz 3D.

Rocket Knight Adventures on Genesis.

Action platforming nirvana, with some other cool elements mixed in.

Mmmm, my most recommended games for people like us would be:

Civilization IV
Magic: The Gathering*
UFO: Enemy Unknown
Team Fortress 2
Pump it Up/Dance Dance Revolution**

*Cube draft or limited, constructed is too expensive in both time and money for most people.
**You can play DDR at home so it's better for most people

Those are not just extremely high quality but they have mass appeal and most people would greatly enjoy them. Some games are not as recommendable even if they are great.

1. Super Mario World - platforming perfection
2. Wonder Boy 3 Dragons Trap - way ahead of it's time
3. Shadow of the Colossus - don't use this term much, but it's deserved here - epic for it's scale and story
4. Castlevania Symphony of the Night - needs no introduction...
5. Metal Gear Solid 3 Subsistence - as good as the action/adventure series gets
