my snes is acting funny

I just got it a few days ago. and I got Super Mario World and Actraiser.

it will play super mario but not actraiser. on actraiser it just goes to the title screen and once you hit a button it just goes to a black screen and nothing happens. it keeps playing music and everything. I know it's not the game bc i played in my friends snes and it played just fine. but I also tested 4 games besides actraiser and they all play just fine.

does anyone know what the problem may be?

Did you try cleaning the contacts on the cartridge/system?

Check your av cables and ac adapter as well. Sometimes the av conection on the back of the system has a loose or broken contact. But most likely the cart slot on your system is dirty. Unplug your system and clean all the contacts with alcohol and q-tips and try again. Otherwise it may something on the circut board, but you need special tools to open the system up and check.

does that game havea special chip? maybe the chip decoder is dead in that snes...

Tried the good old fashioned ninten-blow on the console? I kinda found that if you use it on the console itself it can help.
