According to 01net, the console is being codenamed "Project Café," unnamed sources have said. The sources also said that the hardware is comparable to the Xbox 360, including a three-core IBM PowerPC CPU.

The most interesting tidbit, though, may be the controller. 01net is saying it will feature a six-inch single-input touchscreen, front-mounted camera and the standard set of buttons. The control is also thought to be able to function as the Wii sensor bar as well.

It should be noted that this is the same French news site that accurately gave the hardware specs of the NGP before it was announced.

so the codename is Project Cafe..

How about the Nintendo High Definition System, or Nintendo HDS for short.

Something really stupid and uncool. Every Nintendo console name after the Super Nintendo and Gameboy have sounded cheeky and weird compared to the competition.

Nintendo 64 has a fine name IMO, although I think you're right about Gamecube, DS and Wii.

Sega is the only company that ever got it right. Genesis, Saturn, Dreamcast

Those are bold names that evoke something more than just video games. Sega left the console industry and took cool console names with them. Now we have stuff like....the Wii

Project Mars (codename for 32X), Project Neptune... I guess planets kick ass in Japan..

CDX was pretty good though - back in a time when everything was 'X'..

I actually like that. Very clean and simple, plus it compliments the DS and 3DS names.
