So why is everything in that Kuwait shop so cheap? It seems the owner would do much better selling online?

A couple of things really.

Firstly, you have to understand the arab mentality of "New is better". If something has more bling, is more flashy, is more expensive then it has value. Something old that no one knows is considered worthless. The store mainly repairs consoles and buys things off people very cheap. i bought boxes of things from those guys as some of their stock had been there for over 10 years still in box.

About selling online its difficult here - we have Emirates post and Aramex Shop and Ship, however its no where near as reliable as any US postal service. Also very few people have "Physical" addresses in the UAE as many streets dont have names..
