Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
Actually, although I never owned one myself, a friend of mine did and I played it over his house as a teenager. The only two games I cared for were Knuckles Chaotix and Cosmic Carnage, (which, though nothing stellar, I thought was a pretty competent fighter.) With the exception of Kolibri, my buddy and I played all the games you mentioned and none really jumped out at me!elmagicochrisg wrote:As is the case most of the time I suspect you just talk crap about the system because 'everyone else does'. After store credit, it came to about $2.26... So I pretty much paid what it's worth.
Virtua Racing
Knuckles Chaotix
Kolibri
Space Harrier
Blackthorne
There's a few more, but I just can't be bothered...
Also, for the record, I never talk negatively about a game or system that I haven't actually played, or "just talk crap about the system because 'everyone else does". That would just be shallow, and that is not me at all.
So please, don't assume me to be that kind of person.. If you like the 32X, I completely respect your opinion. But please respect mine as well when I simply feel unimpressed with the machine through my own past experiences with it...

As far as exclusives go, the 32x is weak. The beginning of the end for sega.
a few cool games dont really redeem an entire add on
Its neat, but thats as far as it goes for me

I take it back...
Aside from marketing, they made quite a strong comeback with the Dreamcast. But yeah, I guess some people had lost faith in SEGA by then. Too bad it had to go this way. SEGA is just a hollow word now. No substance whatsoever...dunpeal2064 wrote:As far as exclusives go, the 32x is weak. The beginning of the end for sega.

Fortunately I still have a lot to discover. I only started to really know and appreciate SEGA during the Dreamcast era. So I still have a whole Mega Drive / Genesis catalogue to discover. And a few Mega CD / Sega CD and 32X games. It's good to be a retro gamer... ^^

Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
I agree with both here.. The marketing of the Sega CD, 32X, and the Saturn really left a bad taste in consumers' mouths, (despite the impressive Saturn - one of my favorite retro systems..) Sega definitely dropped the ball in that time, but I agree they made up for it with the Dreamcast! What an awesome system, and so much potential.. It's a shame that the damage was already done by that point. I'd love to see another Sega system some day - and this comes from a heavy Nintendo fan, (read: NOT fanboy.)elmagicochrisg wrote:Aside from marketing, they made quite a strong comeback with the Dreamcast. I found Blast Corps and Battle Arena Toshinden Remix at Salvation Army today. Blast Corps was in "rental" condition, but it was only $3, it works, and I've wanted that game for years. Battle Arena Toshinden Remix was complete in the box, and the disc was in good condition, and only cost $1. For some reason, it was with the old beat-up board games and puzzles rather than under the counter with the Nintendo games.

And THAT, SIR, is why you must look EVERYWHERE in those damn stores!! Lest you miss something sweet. I first learned that lesson when I found a Genesis 2 with the scanners and keyboards, in the same store. Sometimes the employees just don't know what something is, and miscategorize it. Or they're just lazy.optmusprimenumber wrote:And THAT, SIR, is why you must look EVERYWHERE in those damn stores!! Lest you miss something sweet.
