I am addicted to video games, especially retro gaming from my era. I have: NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Gameboy, GBA, Wii, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Xbox, and Xbox 360. I have probably over 1,000 games in total for all these systems combined. Yes, I need help and I wouldn't have it any other way! This is my passion and hey my wife still loves me!!

Re: Favorite Game Intro Themes
that screen used to scare me so bad when I was little haha. It's so iconic to me now.
Re: Favorite Game Intro Themes
There are so many computer games that I think should be mentioned.
I just remembered the intro to the first X-com game, UFO: Enemy Unknown. That was pretty cool.
Dune 2 also had a pretty cool intro:
Syndicate:
Another World:
Flashback:
Privateer:
Some of the above have console ports of course.
Another one, less known than those above, was Cybermage. It is made like a comic book (the game came with a comic book with the events prior to those in the intro).
It had a pretty cool atmosphere back in the day, I guess now it is going to look a bit corny:

Wow, the narrator's voice is so bad, it prevented me from taking the intro seriouslyIvo wrote:Dune 2 also had a pretty cool intro:
I love the style of the intro. The character's designs make it a bit cheesy but it's still good.I just remembered the intro to the first X-com game, UFO: Enemy Unknown. That was pretty cool.
I never played Megaman II back in the day, but when I booted up the emulator for it, I thought the intro was really cool and got me pumped.
Looking for a cool game? Find it in my blog!

M.U.S.H.A's opening always gets me pumped.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
Re: Favorite Game Intro Themes
Sonic CD and Ristar. The whole intros, not the music on its own (Which is still pretty good, although I can't say I'm a fan of the jap song in sonic cd)
Re: Favorite Game Intro Themes
Man Ristar owns.
CyberMage I've actually been meaning to check out someday, I'm pretty sure Warren Spector was heavily involved with it so I wonder how that worked out? It looks pretty funky, but maybe the story/atmosphere rocks?
It was pretty mindblowing seeing that cinematic on the Genesis/SNES.Ivo wrote:Flashback:

The Neo Geo boot screen.
Runner Up:
King of Fighters 2006/KoF: Maximum Impact 2 (PS2) intro screen
Everything from the fight between Terry and Ryo, (Terrys hat gets knocked off as he coughs up blood,) to Iori patiently stalking Kyo from a nearby rooftop as his plane flies into the city. This opening just kicks so much ass!
