Favorite Game Intro Themes

Post by lisalover1 »

There's nothing quite like a good song to greet you on a title theme to really get you pumped for playing a game. So, what are your favorites?

I always liked the theme for the original Phantasy Star. Such an energetic and freewheeling tune that makes you excited for the adventure ahead, and makes you feel like you can take on the world! Then you are killed by an owlbear and have to start over.

I just heard the intro music to Castlevania: Circle of the Moon, and while it was not particularly well-composed in any way, I was blown away by the level of audio fidelity possible on a GBA cartridge, so I thought I should mention it.

The intro to Zone of the Enders: The Second Runner is almost 8 minutes long, but I have to watch the whole thing every time because "Beyond the Bounds" is such a fantastic song:

Final Fantasy Tactics had a good intro. Every time I hear it, it's like someone's injecting nostalgia juice into my eardrums. It's just so very melodic.

Also Metroid Prime's intro is pretty sweet. Maybe I'm biased because of the awesome metal cover done of it: http://www.metroidmetal.com/wordpress/w ... memenu.mp3
