I played a bit fo the demo the other night. This game is pretty cool. It seems like it will really take practice to get used to the spell casting. I don't like the checkpoints though. I defeated a boss character, talk to some guy, defeat a street full of goblins, go to a a town, talk to some townspeople, then died in an ambush of goblins. Where do I start off? Back at the boss!

I had to go through all of that shit again only to die in the ambush again. I should have had a checkpoint after the boss and again in the town. Oh well.

Still, the spellcasting mechanic is really original and really fun. I love that the magic is unlimited unlike every other magic game ever. Fuck mana points. Being able to repeatedly use my mega-beam as much as I want to make the goblins pop is awesome.

I have to say, having just played the game with my buddy in the same room, both using Xbox 360 Wireless Controllers for a couple of hours, this game is massively improved using that method. Keyboard and mouse just doesn't do the game justice, it's clunky and hinders your movement.

Fans of Magicka, invest in a 360 controller for your PC, you won't be disappointed. As always, I'm still looking for people to play with online so send me a message if you fancy some Magicka and I'm online.

Actually take that back, I got used to the K&M and it makes casting so much faster. Especially when you learn combinations of powerful/useful spells. I love this game so much, I can't believe how much fun I'm having with all the never-ending references. Especially the first encounter with the druids. I laughed my ass off.

I've played through the entire game without any issue. Frame rate dips for no real reason were the worst thing I came across. Oddly enough, it was when there wasn't a bunch of enemies on screen. It was only when I was walking passed certain bits of scenery. Very strange.

Bought the game and the Vietnam expansion on the Steam sale. I cracked up when a woman asked me for help in exchange for gold coins and then, when I helped her, she said: "Well, I'd give you the coins, too bad this game doesn't have a proper inventory system!".

I liked that this gives you an achievement called "RPG much?" for completing all of the side quests in the game (this being the only one).

They have a pretty good sense of humor about themselves as game designers. I had a bit of trouble with the game when I first played it and it crashed to desktop. When I booted up again I got an achievement called "Crashed to Desktop" and I now have a spell with the same name that seems to make people disappear.

Haha yes. Crash to Desktop will kill a random character on screen (Including you, excluding certain boss characters).

Now there's a bunch of us with this game can we organise some Magicka party time? Note I don't have the expansion yet but I'm more than happy running through the non-DLC content.

Got an email from the developers, they said the issue I was having should be fix with the last patch - now if only Bioshock 2 would get out of the way
