How do you keep track of your collection?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

rfgeneration here, I've been using them since 2003 or so. I like that you can specify whether you have box & manual, plus the ability to create folders (in my case: one for consoles, one for accessories, one for games, wishlist, I keep a folder of what items were stolen from me a couple years ago and a separate list of what I've rebought etc etc etc). The amount of control is awesome.

I wish there was an easy way to estimate the total value of my collection, but I don't think any sites do that accurately...

This Backloggery place has me intrigued. But they won't let anyone in. I guess it's an exclusive club, if you weren't already in before, you're screwed now.

The site got too popular and they currently don't really use ads, so expanding the userbase would be too costly. It gets opened up for invites every so often when traffic dies down.

IGN does, somehow. Mine is ~$11,000 according to them.

Maybe the only thing I like about using them for this stuff.

I mainly used it to see how my own ratings stacked up against editors and other users, and to find out the alleged worth of my collection, which ended up being over $8,000. I thought it was pretty cool honestly.
You do realize that IGN practically never updates the value of older games, right? It can be saying stuff like an old copy of Rayman 3 is worth $40 and stuff like that. Unless your collection is all new stuff, the IGN value will always be inflated.

So my power level is greater than $11,000? YEAAAAAAAAH

That does make sense though. Always figured it was a rough estimate and never took it too seriously, though I do love seeing my collection number increase. haha

Has anybody used MediaMan for their game collection?
http://www.imediaman.com/

I was thinking of using it as a substitute for my MSWord list..

Thank you very much for mentioning this site. I'm really liking what I'm seeing over there. I am in the process of adding my collection right now. I did post a intro post over there in the intro thread. Going by the same name there.
