Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Hello =) Thought id swing by and say hello. I guess the reason why I’m here on this forum is pretty self explanatory... Retro gaming. LOVE IT
I was born and raised with a Commodore Amiga 500 beside by cot and from there it all started really. I was well into gaming from my school years and loved the psx and ps2. I’ve became rather detached from consoles I have to admit and only really play ‘new’ games on the PC format. I said previously that I was detached from consoles but all I seem to get on PC are lousy ports ;)

I graduated in sociology and criminology and I’m a photographer if that’s of any interest to you

Peace =)

Those were the days.

And install screens.

To be honest, I've never understood why people hate installs so much. But then again, I started gaming on a PC, and it's still my favorite platform, so I've probably got an unusual tolerance for that sort of thing. But when your console game is installing, instead of thinking of it as a waste of time, think about how your loading times will be shorter than if it hadn't installed. It's basically doing most of the games loading up front, instead of having lots of minute and a half loads throughout. I actually appreciate installs, especially after enduring the long and frequent load times that a lot of Xbox games ported from PC and PS1 games suffered from.

I both hate installs and load screens.

Hey all!

I joined a couple days ago but I've started actually posting now so I thought I'd make a formal introduction.

I actually came to this site on a whim when I googled "rarest video games" just out of curiosity and found the very fascinating article of it on this site! I'm also into retro gaming but don't have a collection yet per-say. I'm starting to build up games I've just always wanted to try at the moment.

I really got into retro gaming when I went back and started to try and find games I remember playing as a kid, rented from blockbuster. Can you believe you used to be able to rent Ogre Tactics from blockbuster? You could! I grew up during Sega Genesis and Playstation so I have the most games for those systems (though i also own a gamecube).

I have a soft spot for SRPG's because games like Tactics Ogre and Final Fantasy Tactics I enjoyed most in my youth. I still have a working Genesis and a few titles but I've been thinking of expanding it.

Right now I'm an English Lit. Major and I'm into music and writing.

see you all around I guess!

Hey everyone :) I've been reading articles on racketboy for a few months now and just decided to join you guys here now. I'm a sega boy through and through and my main system I buy and play games for is my dreamcast... though I will be buying more saturn games soon. I just bought one about 9 months ago and don't have many games. Hopefully my new job will provide me enough income to build up my saturn library.

As for current gen I only have a Wii. I do buy a lot of games for it just because its hard to go into a store and not, even though i would probably be more satisfied if I saved up that cash and bough myself a few of the more expensive Saturn games. Oh well, they are fun all the same. :P Hope I can talk to some cool people about things the vast majority of people I know are completely clueless about, thanks.

Thought it was time for me to register and start posting since I've been lurking here for quite some time. Been visiting the site for a couple of years but hadn't noticed the forum until lately.....when I heard the podcast featuring the forummods to be exact.....nope, not the most perceptive :mrgreen:

Anyway, I'm 36 years old, live in the south of Sweden. Have been collecting vintage computers and video games since the early 90's and have built up a somewhat respectable collection. If you're interested I've got pictures of some of my stuff here. Some of you may have seen me on Atariage where I've been a member for several years.
