1mb/4mb Ram Cart probelms

Post by D_H »

I got my cart in the post yesterday.

I have used the cart on Vampire Saviour and X-Men Vs Street Fighter fine.

I tried King Of Fighter 97, without the cart present it comes up with a blue screen with Japanese writing with the word RAM readable. I plug in the cart, it starts to work, then halfway through loading screen indication bar, it throws me back to the RAM message again.

I have tried switching the cart between the 1MB / 4MB options, still the same.

On a Side note the other two games I mentioned come up with a Japanese screen with 16 readable when the cart is present the game then works

Sometimes even when the cart is in it will ask for it, a reboot of the Saturn usually clears the problem.

Could the cart be malfunctioning?

is kof a burn? or true? cos you may need to patch it if the importation is the problem. what cart are you using? what SATURN? more details on your rig would be good.

also 16 readable what? and is this cart from racketboy?

KOF backup of Japanese (downloaded) version I presume as the RAM request is in Japanese

Patched to European

I am using a European PAL Version 2 (21 pin ribbon cable / 64 pin IC) Saturn

With a modchip, A-B bridge, not wire to IC chip leg.

All games boot fine, except the one that need the ram cart.

I just tried King of Fighters again and it worked, looks like an intermittent problem????

is the 16 screen shown when the game works or doesn't? capcom games only?

Yeah sure http://www.segasoluce.net/SegaSoluce/iso/t-z/t-z.htm scroll down and you will find it, come in 4 parts (you will need to convert the .ogg files to .wav with the supplied app before burning the .cue)

Happened with X-men Vs Street Fighter and Vampire Saviour (only two I have tried that requre a ram cart except KOF)

They worked after this screen

Both are Capcom games, think the majority of games that require the video ram car are from Capcom
