Pretty sure I found your problem Noise:

SPOILERS

'However, the game won't let you dispose of Gun 1 if you haven't used it to shoot open the bungalow, the doctor cabinet, and the hitman in your office.'

AHH I wondered if it had something to do with that. Okay, well here's the thing: I ran out of ammo and didn't shoot the filing cabinet. I also don't have the $20 anymore. So is there any way for me to buy ammo or get more ammo?

PS, where did you find that quote????

I seem to remember finding an ammo clip somewhere (your office, in the desk i think), but it wouldnt let me use it on the gun. On the other hand, I'd already shot all those things, so perhaps thats why?

Also, the quote was from the TV tropes page for Deja Vu.

this thread keeps reminding me of why I don't want to play this game - and why I don't like adventure games in general. Too many expect you to do things which are bizarre, combine things that make no sense, etc. I don't find playing a million guessing games very fun, given the alternative kinds of games I could be playing.

tihs game is slightly brutal in that regard. But it's also short. And there's plenty of great adventure games out there that are more logical as well.

I'm guessing you won't be picking up the new HG101 book then, eh Dave?

So I played through Deja Vu 2 today, and i found it harder than the first. Some of the solutions just seemed a bit difficult to think of yourself. I admit, I had to use a guide several times. Overall, I can't say I'm a huge fan of the series - It was nice to play a classic adventure game, but only to see how far they've come - modern adventure games are funny, dont overload you with items you never use (so you always know that at some point, you'll have to use the thing you just got), and generally avoid the easy deaths, especially the ones based on random luck (the mugger in Deja Vu 1 for example, or several gangsters in Deja Vu 2.

I don't regret buying the game though, it only set me back £3 (including postage). It certainly seem high quality for it's time, but in today's context it just comes across as dated.

I beat the two GBC games some time ago. Unfortunately I don't have the game with me right now. It was one of my favorite games for the system back in the day.

There's another 20 dollar bill to be found in the game noise.

Have you run into the woman west of the police station?

Ok, figured out how to reload the .38, went back and shot the file cabinet, got the files, ditched the gun, ditched everything I possibly could. Went to the police station. Got arrested. Yknow what? Fuck this game. It makes you work WAY too hard for tiny little things.

@Dave: This isn't the sort of adventure game I'd tell someone to play so that they could get into the genre. (Did you play Monkey Island with us in 2008 BTW?)
