That's the kind of anecdote I was hoping to hear when I started this topic. XD
I was having trouble thinking of something and then I saw this. The quickest turnaround of my life. I think I sold it the next day. F*** that character totem bull****.
I'm guessing you guys got the PS2 version?

@ applequeso If you didn't like the GCN version, then it's safe to say that there is no hope of you ever liking the game. Of course, I can relate to that. And to the poster who said he couldn't understand how Sonic and the Secret Rings got such a high score, neither can I. The gameplay felt like a bad version of the PS1 Crash Bandicoot games in a way, what with the long skinny hallways that made up most of the game. And the backwards walking was awful. Plus, the whole premise of the game was completely un-Sonic like. The story felt like the plot to a bad episode of a less-than-stellar kids show.

It was I. And don't forget the HORRIBLE boss battles. Round and round and round you go.....

It had grainier graphics, a bad framerate, and it was more glitchy.

Few things wear on me quicker than a bad, drawn-out boss fight. Those can stop me from ever winning a game sometimes, because I can't muster the willpower to beat them.

I know BoringSupreez already said it but yes, it was buggier and had shittier graphics. I can't even beat Team Dark's campaign because of a glitch where if I do the Light Dash, I only get one ring and fall. I heard that the GameCube version was the best version, but I never played anything other than the demo. I like the gameplay of Sonic Heroes okay, it's just that it's such a bug-filled piece of shit.
I stuck with sonic heroes for a bit. I still have it. It has its moments. The first stage and rail canyon stage are pretty cool. But the team gameplay is pointless and annoying. And the bosses are a complete joke of a rushjob. Half of them aren't even bosses.
If they had dropped the team mechanic and added cool bosses, it could have been the best 3D sonic game ever.
